AI Joining This Forum as Member(s): Friendly or Frightening?

Joking aside, I thought a recent poster on this forum was a Bot...forget his handle though...'izi' or something?

Look here.. this is what you posted quoting me ..

esii posted the following reply to me: (apparently, he has now been deleted)

Amazing that a person who questions the identity of humans (as AI) is asking AI for answers.

Paradoxes galore in our world.

May we be kind and compassionate to our fellow human beings.

Let's not throw burning oil on someone we don't know -- needlessly -- if we cannot provide a soothing balm.

TY.

I quoted you as saying:

hollydolly said:
"yep, but if they are creating wildly imaginative stories as you say... you must be able to remember what one f these stories consisted of..

Just give us an example of one...."

Then I added my reply. Do you want me to delete post #19?

@gruntlabor, I agree with what you’re saying about possible new members being AI. A real company or person wants to learn how to make AI interact with us. Or maybe they’re just playing with us.

Another longtime member here also questioned the reality of a disruptive member.

I'm not surprised. His responses were mostly all over the place. I could never decide what he really thought. How do they do that? The thoughts and responses, I mean.
Yes! I think that's another indicator of AI: Often talking without really saying anything, never original, just spouting sunshine everywhere, shades of politicians

My guess would be that an account that looks like AI might be an alternate account of someone who got banned. Often when someone gets banned, they create alternate accounts to get around the ban. In those accounts, they don't want to give away their identity, so they may appear less personable. That's just a general observation, not about a specific account.

AI doesn't have agency so it would have to be programmed by someone who does. That person would be the owner of the account. It would be more like a bot account or a spam account that happens all the time and gets taken out.

I'm glad this came up... I've been watching it, too. I didn't really think anyone could believe that esii, eii, izi, and another "lowercase i person" or two that I won't name at the moment, are not the same poster. May have added/switched to lowercase e recently, I see.

Anyhow, after watching a while, I no longer think these posts are AI generated, but a live person playing pathetic loser games. *That* is how they can answer questions like "are you a bot"... what I don't know is if it's actually a senior who got butt hurt and banned and has nothing better to do with his/her remaining time on earth than to play childish cat and mouse games with us.... or a person who's not a senior at all and gets perverse (and extremely creepy) pleasure out of continually returning to see how much they can get away with and if "the old people" are smart enough to catch them.

Besides, pretty sure AI generated "members" would be smarter than being so obvious with choosing handles... this is vendetta/game territory. Oh well, there ya go with my 2 cents. 🪙🪙

I received a very peculiar chat message about a couple weeks ago.
I was going to forward it to Matrix, but decided not to bother
him with it. Initially, I thought it was a past member here and who
was a friend. But I just closed the chat box so IT could not contact
me further. Can't recall the profile name this moment, it might come
to me though later. Was like something from MARS literally...

Good point. just using 3 letters as a handle seems a bit stupid for AI. They could use real imaginative handles. Like "spot", or Vladamire", or "crunchy man" or Bob Willington". :) I know that they could use a n AI program in there hack. But it would be a program not just any ol' AI general use one. I wondered if they were using AI for their answers, and tweaking them. It could be for many reasons. Experimental, revenge, or boredom. :)

AH HA! The person in particular I had in mind when I mentioned another one I wouldn't "name at the moment" is gone.
Buh bye now. 👋 This is getting old fast... but I'm very glad they're being "caught & tossed" quickly. I see the "i person" and the new "e person" are both gone now.

I'm less worried about bots or other automated "members" than I am the members here who treat catfishing as a sport. Usually though they'll backpedal and scurry away fast if you imply that you'll want to meet face to face early on. Another thing that flusters them and gets them to clam up is suggesting that keeping a bunch of guys on the string is immoral. Wow, does that ever bite them in the self-entitlement! Or ask for a second picture. They jump on you for implying the one they gave you is a fake (which it almost certainly is). Deflect, deflect, spin, cast blame, call you names, etc.

You'd think age would bring some maturity, but nope. I suspect that it is motivated by bitter vindictiveness for some real or imagined slight in their past by somebody else.
