In order to understand what she was saying, I embarked on a study of Romanian. I was helped by my knowing Spanish which like Romanian, is a language largely based on Latin. Well, things were progressing nicely However, I started acquiring certain accent that sounded somewhat like Count Dracula. So to stop people from asking me questions about it, and to recover my former NY accent I stopped.
