How are you in an emergency?

I'm afraid I am a champion panicker. I simply fall apart if the power goes off, water floods a floor or the washing machine goes haywire. I cease to function as I cannot think who to call. It's why I have got all sorts of policies in place. It is the end of the world if the heat or hot water is gone wrong. Any medical emergency you can forget me helping! I wish I was cool, calm and heroic but that's just not me.

So I truly admire those who can keep their heads - my husband is a calm type, thankfully.

I am pretty good in an emergency. I can handle the power off, toilet leak, sink clogged, etc. I am good at medical emergency. They always scare me but you can't just stand there. You have to stop the blood, do CPR, etc, while calling 911. They will walk you thru until they arrive. You would be surprised what you can do when it has to be done.

@Rose65, it might help you to google emergencies and what to do in different situations. It is better to have some knowledge than none at all. It can also make you feel empowered it the time every comes. Don't just read it, study it so it becomes engrained in your mind.

Mine or yours? 😉🤭😂

I’m not great in medical emergencies, especially those involving small children.

Emotional crisis, household emergencies, financial emergencies, weather emergencies or emergencies involving my ‘stuff’ are no problem.

I've lived with Murphy's Law, for decades. "If something will go wrong, it probably will.,..and at the worst time". Therefore, I try to be prepared for any issues...power outage, appliance, house or vehicle problems, etc., and do what I can to keep everything properly maintained. My biggest issue is trying to keep from damaging this old body, and being very careful when doing anything that requires any physical exertion. With my thin skin, especially on the arms and hands, I almost need to have a band-aid in my pocket when I do any work that might cause a "nick". Even on a hot day, I try to remember to put on a light jacket and gloves.
