Are you into antiques? Antiques are items over 100 years old. They don't have to be expensive. Do you have any antiques?

Not really. I appreciate several kinds antiques, but don't collect any.

I LOVE Antiques! I know my folks have a few is really awesome. I have a very old light I found at a Thrift store and they both still work. I have a Rainlamp that is still worse also. My family used to have one in the 70s when they were popular. I love the history behind Antiques also. The mill part of my rainlamp quit so I replaced it with my Cats which I love. Fun question for everyone. This is my dresser my bedroom my awesome RV. I meant to say I found this light at the Thrift store it felt like it's at least 100 years, I love both. Lots of hugs!

I like vintage, antiques, collectibles. It's hard not to when I thrift shop. What do I have over 100 years old? I'm not sure.

I think this quilt is over 100 years old. Paid $15.00 for it in the mid 90's in a thrift store. The Afghan is thrifted. Juniper are you thrifted also?

We have an antique lawyer's bookcase, writing desk, and wall clocks that belonged to my late in-laws. Otherwise, our furniture is modern.

I can appreciate antiques, just don’t want to have them. We do have some family pieces. The kids won’t want them.

Not antiques as such, no... but I absolutely love going to vintage and nostalgia malls to poke around. Sometimes they're called "antique malls" but I look for things from the '40s through '80s.

I had a house full of family antiques but slowly over the past 15 years have gotten rid of most of them.

I've kept some of the smaller stuff but I just got tired of dealing with the rest.

My granddaughter took a few pieces, one of my sisters took the massive oak table and six chairs that were over 130 years old, and I either sold or donated the rest.

I felt liberated.

Not an antique fan but did buy a pistol for $5.00 at a yard sale in N. J. Best I can tell is it was made in Italy around 1850.

Pre-Civil War era pistol... that's a totally cool thing to own! (Yeah, I love anything to do with the Civil War!)

My Uncle has a Civil War sword. He bought it for $500.00 from a Bar. He says I can have it. Next time I pick it up, I'll take a picture of it and show it to you. If you're nice, I'll make you an offer you can't refuse.

I can probably refuse, Beez. But a pic would be great! Sounds like a nice piece of history to own. Is your uncle a US native?

No antiques for me with the exception of a set of ivory-handled sterling silver flatware.

I much prefer the mid-century modern look and will take my knock-off Barcelona chairs over a Louis XV any day of the week.

No. He's Canadian but loves collecting old stuff. I'll show you a pic of the sword for sure next time I visit him and pick it up.

I grew up with antiques and I’ve furnished more than one home with hand me downs and items found on the curb.

The only regret I have is that I started collecting various things, beyond basic furnishings, which have now become a burden.

I used to be. But one day I had a good clear out and sold a lot of them. Felt my house was too cluttered.

I took a few antiques when my ether sold the old home that had been in the family for four generations.
Now its time to try to sell them,pretty sure my sons don't want them.

Have an Eastlake settee & rocker, brown marble top stand to name a few.

Supposedly, to be an "antique, the item has to be over 100 years old. When I was a kid, antiques were made in the 1850s. Today it's 1924. Somehow1924 doesn't sound so old.

Well if they need to be over 100 yrs ? Then I'm not sure. I have two old tables , one I know is old, it was in a house my father bought in 1947 ... so it is for sure two years older than I. I have another table , I bought at a yard sale , it is old but how old ? Then I have a milkshake mixer that is marked 1930.

Am I into them [antiques] ? I guess to a degree I am.

Got 2 banjos that qualify... several pieces of cast iron cookware, one a 3 gallon wash pot dated 1896. A Zimmerstuten rifle from the 1890s

I love antiques. I have my great-great-grandmas 7' cherry cupboard from 1860 built by my great-great-grandpa. It sits in my dining room with the 1992 Amish-made dining room cherry table that looks like it's from the 1880s. I have a few 1880s side tables, quilts & a couple of oil lamps that has been handed down. The other things aren't antique, but I guess they are called vintage for now.
