Are you into texting?

Not just "no" but HELL NO. One of the biggest turnoffs for me is seeing somebody with head down and flying thumbs -- sometimes while driving. Grrrrrr.....

That is one of my biggest complaints when driving. I swear some people would just sit through a green light if no one honked at them. So many people looking down in their laps, but it is no better if they are looking something up or doing email than if they're texting IMO. Also I don't think hands free phone use while driving is so safe either. It isn't just your hands that are needed but your attention too.

I have a cell phone that I don't use! So I don't text either. We bought the cell phone , when for some reason our phones wouldn't work and I figured we needed a phone because we are old. We were without a phone for a month, and some aggravated! Now I'm paying every month for the damned cell phone that I never use.

My family texts a lot to each other. We usually have a discussion every morning, and we like to play games such as Wordle and Connections, and have fun comparing our scores. We live spread out all over the country, so this is an important way to keep in touch. We also text a lot of photos to each other.

I like texting better than phone calls because texting is much less intrusive. If you want to turn your phone off to take a nap, attend a performance, or you are driving or whatever, you can do that and still get the message from the person who wants to talk to you. The text can easily ask you to call them back at your convenience, or at such-and-such a time. But it doesn't interrupt or annoy you.

Email is obviously similar, but you have to bother signing on. Texting is right there on your phone, under your nose. But sometimes we do use email as well, if we are sending a very long message, or want to copy and paste something.

how long is your contract ?

I do not enjoy texting. Would prefer to email.
I have never e-mailed, you need an email to set up an account here but having had a friend's teenage son do it, I have never been involved. When I correspond I do it in writing, hand writing, some call it snail mail. That maybe so but it never fails to get a response.

I have a Consumer Cellular flip phone. I am glad I got the texting for 5 dollars extra a month. Still a cheap plan. I use it on occasion. It's good to have. But no, not into texting. I don't need communication that much.

I use Google Messages, which lets my PC connect to my Android phone. I can send/receive using the phone or the PC keyboard. On the phone I always use the 'swipe' function of the little keyboard, just draw a line to all the letters of a word rather then trying to touch each letter separately. I dropped my land-line phone years ago.

Being an introvert I have a strong preference for texting instead of calling.

I use the voice to text on my phone, which makes it too easy and today my daughter texted me back "you send so many words". LOL

I remember when we first got the capability to send text messages on our computers at work, one of my coworkers was so reluctant to use the new feature and then after he replied to me messenging him, my computer just randomly got a blue screen of death, and by the time I got back on he was all mad at me for making him use the text messenger and then not responding. Ha ha.

At another job in those early days management was so suspicious that we'd use it to just chat all day, and we figured they would spy on our communications (which were very work-related, it was such a useful thing) so we always included in our messages that "Julie deserves a big raise". She got one, a huge one! LOL

No with these hands I can barely use this keyboaRD, let alone
the tiny ones on the cell fone, don't like trying to hear someone
either cause of my ears....so I have one but barely use it....

I prefer texting, although not on the phone, with it's bizarre touch features. My desktop is synced with the phone's text app, I can use mouse and keyboard. I enjoy talking to my son, when he makes the bi-weekly call to the old man. ;)
