How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

Home today, had great day yesterday with son/grandson. Went to lovely park on East River where they played football & soccer. Then grandson played in playground. Met a kid to play with immediately, it's really something how kids meet so easily compared to adults.

Tomorrow will be leaving very early to watch grandson as his school is closed for Columbus Day Indigenous Day, Italian Heritage Day. Kinda nervous about getting ready early, and don't trust AccessARide to get me where I want to be at the proper times. They've been trying to pick me up an hour EARLY lately, and when I can do it I do; when I can't, then they are very late picking me up at promised time. I Hate Them.

In my review of the year passed for Yom Kippur, AccessARide came up first as the most negative thing; surpassing even the agony of pain & suffering I had for my two leg surgeries. I can't get over my Hate as they continue to cause me anxiety and grief every time I use them. It's like a Given that they will F up. And no, there is currently no way to escape them if I want to visit my grandson.

Now that I made my complaint of the day I can move forward doing the stuff I must do today; drug pickups from my dealer CVS; work at calming myself today to fully enjoy tomorrow despite the problem of getting there and getting home. Hate AccessARide, sorry to be repetitive.

Total rest today. Woke up with a scratchy throat. Have been overdoing the exercise, and yesterday took a long day trip with wife to eat fried oysters by the Chesapeake Bay on Gwinn's Island near Mathews. Incredibly beautiful setting! Will skip church, walk dog and may try to hang a few pictures later.

Thankfully, it's dry today so we've got the washing on the combined solar and wind powered drier - AKA the clothesline to dry. It's pretty cold so we're debating whether to go for a walk or not. Roast duck for dinner tonight.
lol..that might catch on with the young.....which reminds me that today I read that the princess of Wales, enjoys a ''foot race''....:D

I get it, @hawkdon. It often happens that I think "I'll ask DH..." before I remember that he's not here to ask.

@katlupe So sorry you've been reduced to drinking pumpkin spice anything ;).

DD has decreed that we're going to clean the other half of the garage today. When I win the lottery and we buy another house, it's going to have a self-cleaning garage.
Gigi, I couldn't upvote your post because you made me sad, and made me laugh all in the one post....:D

I bought some No Salt salt replacement which is potassium chloride. I mix it half and half with the salt that I use for cooking and seasoning. My sodium and potassium levels are good. I was low in potassium at one time.
I use Lite Salt (1/2 regular salt, 1/2 potassium chloride) for some things, No Salt as table salt, and regular salt for baking.
And here's a post I wrote in May of this year:
Sending a belated thank you and shout-out to @CallMeKate for her recommendation of Herb-Ox sodium-free chicken granulated bouillon. I bought a couple of jars in March and am delighted with it. Most bouillons are so salt heavy.

Also a big thanks to @sadie123 who recommended Costco's Kirkland Organic No-salt seasoning. My husband is so hooked on it that I had to put a small shaker of it in the RV!
DH's doctor has reduced his BP meds dosage, for which we partly credit the above.

My BP is fine so far and I'd like to keep it that way. Certain foods (baked potatoes or cole slaw, for instance) really cry out for salt, so these substitutions help reduce my intake. A little salt is necessary, but I could easily eat far more than is healthy.

We also put some of the Kirkland no salt seasoning in a clean coffee grinder and grind it smaller than it comes from Costco. We really prefer the small grind to use on eggs and some other food items.

I'm here, just sitting around and enjoying my

. So far, I've not made any plans for the day. It is the last warm day, tomorrow things cool off.

I guess it's time to have breakfast, and get this day started.

Great idea!.
I have two grinders - one exclusively for coffee beans, the other for spices and flax seeds. At about $15 for an electric grinder, I find it well worth the money (and cabinet space) to have two.

So they make a half and half version? I didn't know that. I mix it with ionized sea salt.

I slept for an hour this afternoon on the sofa, and I dreamt my ex husband, DD's father was in a hospital bed very ill... surrounded by lots of paperwork which was not being attended to by him, but by people who were ripping him off.

As some of you know my first husband is pretty poorly he's just getting over Prostate cancer, and he's suffering terribly with COPD.. and can barely breathe or walk..

I haven't spoken to him in about 3 months so there's no reason why I should have had that dream. I might text him and see if he's ok... because most bad things that happen in my life come to me in a dream..

A few days ago marked the 4th anniversary of my son's death. It seems like yesterday and also like ancient history. To say I miss him would be a major understatement.
oooh so sorry ((Alizerine))... how heartbrbeaking for you, it's not the way of things is it ?:(... Can I ask what his cause of death was ?
