MLB League Championships begin this evening!

I love a good baseball game. Tonight's game is the Mets vs. the Dodgers on the Fox OTA channel.
When I was 8 in 1960 I lived Baseball. My summers and fall were filled with ball games, both the Major League and Little League. I quit playing around 16 and never played again. I use to love watching the games, and then it became highlights, and then nothing. I never watch Baseball. Curious how something so important has no value at all any more. :)

I'm no expert, but I believe you have baseball trauma — often caused by being hit in the head while sitting in the stands by a foul ball.

I'm surprised there aren't more sports threads in SF. I'm no sports fanatic, but I do watch a game or two every week.

Same here. But it all went to shit for me when my team, the Dodgers, left Brooklyn. It was a childhood trauma I never got over. :(

I followed them for a while after they moved to LA. Mainly because of Koufax who was the greatest pitcher to ever play the game IMO. Apparently the term for that is "The GOAT" Greatest of All Time. But when he had to retire early that was it for me.

I'm happy my favorite team, LA Dodgers are going to the World Series, they did win in 2020 but that was a short end season due to Covid
This yr certainly has been a trying one for the team due to the pitching woes, injured players
It should be an exciting series to watch Shohei Ohtani vs Aaron Judge, 2 of the best power hitters in MLB
I hope the Dodgers win in 5

I became a fan when Cincinnati's Big Red Machine was in action, at the same time my son was deeply into it all. I got too busy and stopped watching, but Son still loves the game although he complains about the changes, "no more great fielding, they're only interested in homeruns," "announcers all terrible" "fierce team rivalry is gone, now they're all patting eachothers rears.'

I am not a fan of either team but I will be rooting for the Yankees just because they will be playing the Dodgers. I'm not a fan of the Dodgers, or the Lakers, Rams, Kings, USC Trojans....noticing a trend here ?

I have to admit, even though I don't follow baseball anymore I still have a soft spot in my heart for th Dodger's. And now that we have a Dodgers/Yankees world series coming up like in the good old days I might just have to tune in. I just wish they were still in Brooklyn playing at Ebbets Field.

Hoping for a repeat of 1955.
