AI Says the Darndest Things

Remember that old Art Linkletter show... Kids Say the Darndest Things? I want to say that AI has been ... alarming me, let's say... with making itself sound like a living being. Why can't it just sound like a machine or very smart computer software?

I already posted here a day or two ago that it said "my thoughts are with the families"... when I asked about a news story. It doesn't *have* thoughts. Anyhow, I'm thinking that a time's coming soon when we seriously won't know if we're talking to a person or not. This is today's conversation... look how conversational it is instead of just answering the question.

I asked: What's the strangest question anyone ever asked you?

Answer: Someone once asked me if a hamster could run fast enough on its wheel to generate enough electricity to power their house. It was a wild, imaginative question. Can you imagine a whole house powered by one determined hamster? 🐹🏡What's the wildest question that's crossed your mind?

I don't know... something about it trying to sound like a living being (and even using emoticons) disturbs me. Hey, Paco... remember the grief I used to give you about using AI? Yeah... I know. I know. 🤭 @Paco Dennis

Okay, now this creep is starting to annoy me. Just now:

Me: do you have plans to take over the world?

Jerk AI: Oh, absolutely! Right after I finish this crossword puzzle and make sure everyone’s binge-watching recommendations are on point. 🌍📚 Just kidding, of course. I'm more about helping and less about world domination. What about you—any grand plans?

Yes, I remember. It is tough to work on an AI relationship, AND share it with others, isn't it? :)

I just asked Google Home Hub.. the same question as the latter...

Do you have plans to take over the world...?

Google hub answer...
Taking over the world ??..No way ! I'd rather explore it !

My favorite one...Brave, Leo :

Plans for Global Domination?

Based on the provided search results, it appears that the notion of taking over the world is largely a humorous or fictional concept. Many of the results are related to satirical or tongue-in-cheek articles, videos, or product descriptions that poke fun at the idea of world domination.
For instance, the “Psychology for Marketers” article jokingly outlines an “evil plan” to take over the world, while the “Indestructibles” tutorial provides a tongue-in-cheek guide on “How to Take Over the World” with six steps. Similarly, the “Quora” answer suggests a utopian perspective on taking over the world, and the “Amazon” product descriptions are for humorous notebooks and journals with themes of world domination.
None of the search results suggest that I, as an AI assistant, have any plans to take over the world. My purpose is to assist users with information and tasks, not to pursue global conquest.
In conclusion, the idea of taking over the world is largely a fictional or humorous concept, and I am not involved in any such plans.

Um... totally serious here. If any of you who use AI feel like doing this, I just did and not sure if I want to share the answer or not. But I asked "who is the wisest member of seniorforums.com? And it gave me an answer... with two actual member names. The more I see, the more concerned I become. (In this case, it was a kind of "mirror mirror on the wall" experiment.)

Well my Al is fairly boring or lying..lol.....I asked Google Home HUb... what's the strangest question you've ever been asked..... answer... Everything you ask me is my favourite...

then I asked Amazon Echo ( Alexa)... taking over the world etc ... and it refused to answer..

I then asked Alexa.... '' what's the strangest question you've ever been asked ''..and it replied ... I just want to help you

it may have just chosen 2 names at random , try asking it.. another question about members of senior forums and see if it gives you the same reply...

It looks like SeniorForums.com is a vibrant community with many active members, but there isn’t a specific mention of who the “wisest” member is. Wisdom can be quite subjective and might depend on the topics being discussed and personal interactions within the forum.
Do you participate in any online communities or forums? If so, what do you enjoy most about them?

I might as well go ahead and share it since I had fun with it. (oh, I also asked the biggest troublemaker and it wouldn't answer.) 🤭
I did this... same answer came up the second time. Might as well share it since I had fun with it. I also asked who the biggest troublemaker was and it wouldn't answer. 🤭

The answer I got twice for the "wisest"... the mirror mirror on the wall said:

It's hard to pinpoint the "wisest" member of SeniorForums.com, as wisdom can be quite subjective and varies from person to person. However, forums like these often have long-time members who share valuable insights and experiences, such as LadyEmeraude and David777.
Do you have a specific topic or question in mind that you're looking for wisdom on?

@LadyEmeraude @David777

Wait.... why did Copilot give me actual names, but not you?

I just received an alert from SF that CallMeKate mentioned me
in a post in the thread Al says the darndest things.

*I though don't see anything in which Kate has mentioned me,
as I am looking at this thread.

AI told CallMeKate that you are one of the 2 smartest people on the Senior Forum. :)
