For all the years that I lived in Hampshire, I only visited the Isle of Wight once. We took the hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde. Only takes 10 mins. Never saw David Icke. I've also taken the hovercraft across the English channel, not long before the service ended in 2000. Neither journey was particularly comfortable.
me too.. as you know I lived in Gosport which is right next to the IOW...

It feels really cold today..it's 8 deg... but I'm really feeling it. I just went out to the barn and the grass is looking like it has ice all over it...

I've had to put my padded Body warmer on now, so as to try and keep the heating off for a while longer.

Just had a little light lunch of Potato waffle and fried egg.. that'll warm me up...

8 degrees? fairly warm for this point in the year. We'll be working on the deck in that, of course. Our ice crystals don't bother to show up on the grass in the morning until it's down to 3 degrees.😅 (just kidding)

So much has been going on, my head is spinning, I don't even know where to start!

It's been raining here, and raining, and raining, and raining.....
We have have had almost 12 inches of rain since Friday! The storms have kept me awake for 2 nights in a row, so I've been over tired and crabby (YES! Me, crabby! Can you believe it?!)

Yesterday, despite poring rain and flooded roads, I went to my doctors appointment, and I was soaked to the skin when I got there. So now, I'm all set up for a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks.

This morning it was Dio's turn to have a doctors appointment, so I was out in the rain again! At least the rain eventually stopped, and we got some errands done...even a trip Wal-Mart.

Amongst groceries and all of the usual stuff, I got 2 Amaryllis plants!

This is the one I got last year.

I think the two I got today are more of a candy cane pattern.
Is that a photo from last year or a current picture? Wondering if you are able to keep them alive and blooming year after year.

I'm having a terrible time with the time change, I'm going to sleep at 'standard' time, but waking up at 'daylight savings' time (partly on my own, but partly due to the cat being on the old wake-up schedule). I'm just sooo tired.

I've been putting off changing my Part D prescription insurance until finding out results of medical tests (in case meds would change), but I got the last of those and the only change is to drop the bone medicine. I hope that is not a mistake, I feel like probably my bones will just get porous again, my doctor says tiny weight lifting with my arms will keep all the bones strong, but I doubt that because my bones got bad in spite of years of lugging water buckets, feed bags, and hay bales around (which sure felt like weight lifting to me).

I'd had plans to go with a person to the city to a museum, but he has texted me that he isn't ready today. I'm finding my fellow old people here kind of undependable, but maybe I am too. I hope to go by myself instead (if I can wake up enough to go -- chancy because the time pressure of meeting someone helps get me ready).

That is a photo from last year.

After it bloomed, someone in my other forum asked me if I was going to plant it in my garden. 😲. I didn't know that it was an option!!!!

I went online and looked into it. Apparently they do very well outside! They are force bloomed for Christmas, but once they are in the garden they will go back to their natural schedule, and they will bloom in the spring.

At planting time (spring), I put it in the garden. It did well, until I got an insane kitten who loved to jump on it and tear up the area around it!!!! LOL

Now that my kitten is older he ignores it. It has made a wonderful come back!!! I'm thinking that it must be very hardy! That is why I decided to add one or two to the garden each year.

I'm really looking forward to seeing it bloom outside next spring!

Plans for today?

Hmmm....
I don't have much in the way of formal plans.

I bought some sweet Italian sausage yesterday, I want to cook up and freeze meatballs. I need to prepare some chicken scraps for The Girls. That's a messy job, so I'll have a kitchen to clean. Basically, today is an

day. I was thinking about making a Pumpkin Cheesecake, but I might be over doing myself.

Hopefully, I'll be able to enjoy my day....go for several walks, etc.

Well, just had one of those Senior-Moments we all dread....the
animal control peeps were here to set the trap for stray cat, had
me fill out a form, asked for my phone number, and my mind *?*
went completely blank !!!! Guess I'm heading around the bend!!!!
I wrote mine on the back of my cell with permanent marker. You are not alone! There is a not well documented subclass of The Number Seekers out there.

I keep my phone number (and address) right on my address book, which is kept by the phone.

Anytime someone asks me for my number, it's as is someone pulled the plug on my brain.....it's completely blank!!!! 😅

On my early walk at 6:50 I went around the building complex one time before breakfast
I really didn't have any plans today until I got a surprise ck in the mail. I forgot Jeff who bought my co opt apt with his partner, BOb had to put a deposit down for the apt. I got refund from my real estate agent's company. This morning made an appt with Gates van to take me to my bank at 11:30. I deposited majority of ck in my savings acct, rest in my cking acct. I decided to walk home, it took me 35min,was a bit tired when I returned. This was the 1st time in a couple days I had energy to do this due to my head cold now 98% back to normal

Dilated eyes today and it’s really sunny. Almost all of the time I’m out I have sunglasses. Wouldn’t you know that I’d forget them this morning. I do wear transition lenses, though they really weren’t up to the sunny weather. The good news is that my vision is stable (KOW). I came straight home and will go out bread shopping this afternoon. In the meantime, more laundry.

I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom floors using the Swiffer system (dry then wet) while I ran the dishwasher. I also balanced two of my checkbooks and was astonished when I realized I hadn't done it in 2 months!

Between my ADD and feeling tired (even my eyes) I didn't quite finish my main account. I'll finish that and a third account tomorrow. At least there's very little activity for two of the accounts.

Well, it started way too early, but was woken with yet, another heartburn episode, In five hours, I have to take the truck in for brakes all around, 4 rotors, pads, and 1 caliper... Then need to finish getting the snowblower ready for winter, and clean up the tractor from this past summer... and then it will probably be time for a nap...
