Chicken pot pie loaded with vegetables and butter lettuce with sliced apple/onion dill vinagrette.
Thanks Starsong, good to know!! I feel like I can manage the food portion of this but I am really going to have to find new ways to use condiments. Those seem to be trouble makers for diabetes.Just a quick comment: I don't have diabetes but rarely use full fat mayo anymore - Light mayo isn't perfect, but it's pretty good.
Here's the comparison of Best Foods/Hellman's offerings, (and also the brands I use: Walmart's Great Value and Aldi's brand).
Per Tbsp:
Light: 35 calories, 3.5 grams of fat, 1 gram of carbs, 0 sugars
Regular: 90 calories, 10 grams of fat, 0 carbs or sugars
Hope this helps.
That sounds like fun!I won't be cooking anything today. Going to eldest son's for evening meal followed by quiz/trivia games.
Crumble some fresh bacon bits into your bread dough. Not sure yet, but I might make some no-knead bread.
There is a pound of bacon unopened in the fridge that I should cook. I think I'll bake it in the oven on a rack.
I also have a bag of shredded cabbage. Maybe cole slaw, or a veggie stir-fry.
LOL, I just took bacon out of the oven and am enjoying a bacon and tomato sandwich! If I make bread, I will but the leftover bacon it it, thanks.Crumble some fresh bacon bits into your bread dough.
Smart, @Marie5656 . I still have a small container left in the freezer of the beef-barley soup, and will now portion off the chicken-tortilla soup I just made.I made a big batch of chicken soup yesterday. Put it in single containers and will be freezing for the winter. In a couple weeks I will be doing chili
This will be so nice on a cold winter day! I know I would love this soup. Someday, would you share the recipe? I don't do any canning.Made 11 bottles of potato and ham soup

Here’s the recipe if anyone wants to try it.
Note: this recipe was first offered me by @officerripley
HAM/SPUD SOUP
1/8 cup butter
4 green onions chopped
1/2 cup diced celery
4 cups diced potatoes (about 5 average-sized potatoes)
2 cups chicken broth
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 cups milk
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup thinly sliced carrots
1 clove minced garlic (or 1/8 tsp garlic powder)
1 cup cubed ham (about 3/4 lb.)
1-1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp dried parsley (or 2 tsp fresh chopped parsley)
1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
Put butter, regular onion, carrots, celery, and garlic into large saucepan and saute until 'till onion is soft and clear. Add green onions, potato, ham, chicken broth, salt, pepper, and parsley and bring to boil. Cover and simmer 'till vegetables are cooked, stirring occasionally. Stir in milk and heat through, without boiling (about 2-1/2 to 3 minutes). Garnish with grated cheese. Makes 4-5 cups
Thanks Patty, Now I remember seeing it. I have just saved it to my recipe file@RadishRose
Here is the recipe. I got it from @officerripley. My husband and I think this is the best soup I’ve ever made. It’s a great recipe. It makes 4 to 5 cups of soup. We ate the entire batch in one day so I can’t tell you how well it keep but ‘think’ it would keep well due to the preservatives in the ham. It doesn’t call for croutons. I just added them and highly suggest you do.
Can't believe the elaborate cooking done on a regular basis by so many here. Very impressive.Today it was Amish oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes & fried corn with apple pie for dessert.
