The eternal question.....Did men walk on the Moon?

Easy answer....arrogance, "we are the first and only ones in history to have been there!!" And, the Moon is made of cheese, as they found out lol!
Due to the fact that the USA and the Soviet Union had a competition in the field of space flights and the Soviet Union won with 'Sputnik' the first satellite in orbit it is imaginable that the moon landing was a fake. I was almost 10 years old in the summer of 1969 and was allowed to watch it on our small black and white TV set, although it was in the evening in Europe. But what we saw was blurred.

For most of the time I did believe in the moon landing. But two years ago I heard in our news that the U.S. were planning new moon landings but had lost the whole technical knowledge how to do it. I can't believe that the U.S. who gather all information they can obtain (think about the tragical death of Nikola Tesla and how the USA got all of his scientific material) can just lose the technical material of the moon landings. For this reason now it seems more likely to me, that they never have been there.

I touched a moon rock at the Kennedy Space Center about 15 years ago. It sure felt like a moon rock to me.

What I find interesting, instead of the kooky conspiracy theories people promote, is the nature of the folks who believe in them, Here's an excerpt from a 2023 meta analysis of previous studies:

The researchers also found that people with certain personality traits, such as a sense of antagonism toward others and high levels of paranoia, were more prone to believe conspiracy theories.

Those who strongly believed in conspiracy theories were also more likely to be insecure, paranoid, emotionally volatile, impulsive, suspicious, withdrawn, manipulative, egocentric and eccentric.

Here's a link if you want to read the entire article:
Psychology of Conspiracy Theories

Two things: Those folks will never change their mind, and they always want a platform to tell folks about it.

We didn't lose the "technical knowledge" of how to land on the moon. Hell, we've landed spacecraft on Mars, or was that a hoax, too?

I was in 2nd grade, the teacher had a television in class and we watched the Moon landing live! Or did we? I want to know what you think....did men really walk on the Moon? My belief, even then was, and is......................no.
I Don;'t believe there's such a thing as a television. I'm just having a weird dream.

Agreed in full and thank you!

Then you must live on the Moon, no tv's there lol!!! If there's no tv, then how do you know men walked on the Moon lol?

As I've written, it was on the radio. If it really had happened, why was there such a long break in moon landings with astronauts? Isn't it strange?

Very good! And, many forget about the Van Allen radiation belt, then again how many people actually know what it is?

I heard they no longer have the plans for the Saturn Rocket, but I would expect a whole new technology, and a much better rockets than what we had 60 years ago.

Let's hope not, we have much bigger issues here to address, on earth, rather than waste on outer space.

We haven’t lost the technical knowledge of how to land and walk on the moon but unfortunately we seem to have lost the knowledge and or the will to pay for it.
Oh but they can blow trillions of dollars on wars? Yes, thoughts are a slippery slope...for some.

Sure, go to where no life dwells, nor ever will, that makes sense.
No life "dwells" on the top of Mount Everest or at the South Pole, yet people go there all the time. Humans, as well as many other species, have a curiosity about things we don't understand. We want to know more about them, and we want to challenge ourselves — to explore and go where no one has gone before.

Many technical innovations have come out of the space program, such as the integrated circuit and other inventions that eventually led to the personal computer and the internet. Every space mission has advanced our knowledge, and that's a good thing.

Thank you for your reply, fair enough! Now, let's take that a step further. How could we have traveled to the Moon then, with less technology than we have now on cell phones, and have not returned to the Moon since with all the technology in the world at our fingertips? Why has no other country made it to the Moon? Of course, the US of A did it, as told on tv lol! I'm with you though, I don't believe anything on tv, or from the mouth of the government. Hence, my doubt.
Money and politics. Simple. Why are you raising all these silly old issues? Glad we have ignore on this forum.

Why did you bother to respond to these "silly old issues?". No, it's not money and politics, but truth/lies and corruption. If it was just a matter of money, then where do they find the trillions of dollars to spend on illegal wars?
