I think we all benefit from the learning of others and I've tried to give my son the benefit of my experiences. Now that I have grandchildren, I hope I'll live long enough to do the same with them. Whether or not my experiences will be meaningful to them is another thing, but I got to thinking about what I'd like to pass on to them some day and wondered if others have done the same with younger members of their family.
I think one of the most important things I'd like to pass on is to treat others with kindness and respect whenever possible. The "golden rule" so to speak. Be willing to listen to the other side before making judgments. Be considerate of those less fortunate than you. Be grateful for the blessings of family and friends and never underestimate the value in forging a few strong friendships.
I'm sure there are many other things I want to impart before I leave this planet. Anyone care to share?
