A block option is much needed!

Because of the number of silly, insulting and ridiculous posts I have seen on a few of my threads, I suggest we have the added option to block people, not just ignore them, when they engage in this kind of behavior! Ignore is a good option, but better would be the option to block them, and delete their post if it is insulting, this would prevent them from doing the same thing over and over, and they would not be able to post on a thread of a member who has them blocked. Note: this option should be available only to the person who creates the thread, not just anyone.

However, a post that one member finds insulting another might not, so no one member can have the ablity to delete someone else's post...no mattter how insutling. if you feel it's agains the rules.. use the report button and admin @Matrix will remove it..otherwise the ingore buton is a magic tool..believe me I have serveral obnoxious people on ignore...

No, that option would be only for the person who creates the post, not just anyone. As is available on any other site including social media, the author of the post should have that option to block them altogether and delete their post. Do you follow me now?

no...I don't sorry... if you;re saying the author of an insulting post should have the opportunity to delete their post.. they can... but why would they want to..

if you're saying the person who has been insulted should be able to delete the post then I refer back to my previous post...

You currently as a new member of this forum cannot delete your own posts..

Omg. Holly, please read carefully! The creator of a thread, in this case..ME, should have the option to block a person and delete the post of (the person in violation), if they engage in silly, insulting, childish remarks. Now, do you understand??? If not, keep trying lol!

If I, as the author of the post, find it insulting, I should be able to delete that post, and block that member, and prevent them from doing it again, that is my point!

you can block anyone whose bothering you, by using the ignore button.. then you will never see their posts..you can't delete their posts because they may be of interest to other people, regardless of how insulting you find them However, that said,if you're being personally attacked admin will not permit that, so use the report button, and admin will remove the offensive post

Thank you I am well aware of how the system works, but, a block option is needed. If I find something insulting, childish or vulgar, why would I want anyone to be able to read it??? So, ignore doesn't solve the issue I am referring to, that's why a delete/block option is needed.

That as the option makes perfect sense.

You're brand new here.. you've managed to come to be ''well aware of how the system works'' ...in just 48 hours ...Impressive !

Because for me reading opinions by others helps me understand their character. I've found that people have good days & bad. Their opinions can differ on any given day. I think you know that the written word can be interpreted differently. Verbal & facial expressions can make a difference.

Bottom line if you don't like the opinion/post of another the ignore button works just fine.

Another person who does not comprehend my meaning...next!

You are misguided....I am new here yes but have been on the internet dating back to the early IBM PC client in 1988, that eventually became America Online, the following year. Have been on every social media site there is and has been. This site is not hard to figure out....it borders on simplistic minimalism in its options and utilities. It lacks in many areas, and I seek to improve it! You obviously don't understand much of what I am saying, so, please avoid commenting if you don't have anything intelligent or constructive to add to my post...just like the one you just posted!
No this is where you're mistaken..One ..that most of us here have been on forums long before you were old enough to be on any... 2.... the format of this forum is very different to most..and 3...if you had any experience with forums you would know... that making personal comments about my intelligence or anyone elses' because it doesn't fit your way of thinking is the direct way to get yourself ignored by most people... so start thinking with your brain and not your feet...

Why don't you contact @Matrix and see if you can talk him/her into making you an Admin, because that's what it's going to take, to edit or delete someone else's post.

I knew that eventually, your jealousy, resentment and well, your envy of me, would manifest. Never write a letter, or a post, in anger Holly! Once the words come flying out, they cannot be taken back. I showed sympathy for your situation that you described, so you have a short memory. Forums are not rocket science, but maybe they are to you. I told you I have been online since 1988, and I doubt you were then. I posted my suggestion in the suggestion box, which was what it was designed for. I did not ask for your penny opinion on it, or your view of it. I am seeking to change this site for the better, regardless of what you think. I hope someone addresses that issue, it will be for the better.

Well, posting it in the suggestions forum should do that trick, hope it gets addressed. Thank you!
