I Find the Ignore Button a Wonderful Feature of this Whole Forum

I find that the people that start out pushing my buttons either mellow out…or I mellow out. No one ever been ignored yet

Somebody might have already said....you can turn off notifications for (or unfollow) a thread.

But it still how’s up in under new postings.

The thread will not show up in new postings when you've put the thread starter on ignore.

@Brookswood - yes that would apply to all threads started by that person.

It is so easy to get snagged by hate. Hateful feelings come and sometimes get expressed. Ok. It happens. Apologies are good. But, we all are going to have difficulty sometimes with some people. If it is chronic, the ignore button is there to put that to bed. Not much else you can do. Except pout about it.

I would not call them 'enemies'. They are members who disagree with my opinion, which is no problem at all, since it is a discussion forum. But if I'd notice personal attacks or the discussion with another member is rotating on the same topic on and on with the same old arguments and counter-arguments, it is possible that I use the ignore button. But an enemy? No.

Not to bring up old skeletons but someone in the forum once said my lifestyle was "disgusting". That is an enemy. Not someone with a different opinion. Even if I thought something very negative of someone I would never say it.

Every person I have put on ignore, has made a personal attack on me.. I don't stand for that in real life, ! I certainly won't stand for it from strangers
