there are people who ignore me I know that..I don't care that they ignore me. Tat's their perogative everybody can't like everybody..it doesn't bother me... but the only one I

you can't walk away from people who insist on following you around the forum making derogatory remarks...
I feel for you @hollydolly. šŸ¤—

Perhaps they feel more powerful behind a screen to feel better about themselves because they have low self esteem. They just aren't worth engaging with. If one does, it just gives them power over you.

And why or why not?
Zero. If I find I really want to ignore someone, I just pass them by, no need for the assist of an ignore feature. I also think that those who use the ignore feature, still peek at certain posts of the person they are ignoring. If I'm not mistaken, that is still possible. I never used the ignore feature on any forum I have belonged to.

..yes and so why put up with it.. don't need to.. one click of a button and their silenced...

One terrible type of cyber bullying I saw was on a forum I used to be on for seniors.. it's closed now, but at the time it was the biggest forum of it's kind on the intenet. On that forum there was ''like and dislike'' button for posts...and one woman who was really very nice, .. had somewhow annoyed one clique.. and they followed her making these derogatory remarks on every post.. and giving the thumbs down, reaction to everything she wrote.

She could have said she save a man from drowning.. and she was immediately ''drowned'' in dislike ticks....it was absolutely disgraceful...but these people knew if they actually verbally attacked her it was against the rules, but by following her and pressing the dislike button on eveything she said they were cyber bulying her without saying a word..
Glad that dump is closed. Beyond childish behavior. Mob mentality, which is the worst.

There are conflicting personalities out there. They will contradict most everything.
------------
Say you joke about farmers combining beans and creating miles of dust across the fields
and offer that they should spray a very light water mist at the back of the Combine to help
settle the dust devils quickly.
------------
They may instantly contradict you with the Farmer doesn't
have the time to fill the water tank. ... :coffee: ...
_________
You might respond that the Government could start a department to help the Farmers.
You know Farmer Combine Aid-Agency, the FCA-A. ... 🤣 ...
-----------
Most likely their response would be the FCA-A would be too busy to help.
-----------
Any farmer who has openly ground Corn with a Hammermill may welcome any kind of help to remove the dang Dust !
You know vacuums with dust collector Bins & filter socks.
--------
I can't imagine the Tons of Grain Dust; ground dust emitted each season during harvest!

For years, I didn't know there was an 'ignore' button. I admit that I used to get into some "discussions" with others. Someone on Sen. Forum said just don't respond. And when I didn't respond, I no longer felt like I had been in battle. I said my piece. That's all you can do, so why get bent out of shape with someone you're going to meet in the next thread?

How many have you put on ignore?

How do you find out? I'm sure I have a couple but how do I find out how many there really are? Is there a button I have to push? It seems to me there are two reasons to put someone on ignore. Maybe you don't want to see what they have to say or maybe you need a reminder not to respond to them for some reason.

Been on boards like these since AlGore strung the first cotton lines btwn cans. I have more people on ignore here than all the other boards put together and a couple are "no holds barred" type forums so "anything goes" except threats of a physical nature.

Am I getting less tolerant as I age or as we age do we become so hardened and grizzled that we no longer care about how others view us so restraint and civility is non-existent so therefore the "ignored" user group skyrockets?

None on ignore. I like to read responses but could use it if one does get too obnoxious to anyone on here.
