The best part for me has been getting lifetime “Golden Age “ passes to state and national parks.
My 2 grandsons are in their late 20s but in most of my memories they are toddlers. The time went so so fast. One of my grandsons turns 30 this year. He's taller and heavier than me and I'm 6 ft. and 210 lbs. I did, at one time, hold him and give him his bottle but those years are long gone.![]()
Well biological "middle age" is 35. We aren't really built to reach 70 in large numbers, much less beyond.Looking at the under 24 crowd, they don't know it, but they are so damn young. And they think they're all grown up.
l had to look up the definition of "senescence.*Well biological "middle age" is 35. We aren't really built to reach 70 in large numbers, much less beyond.
Culturally people have come to think we have until 40 or even 45, but it isn't really true. We can prop up and extend senescence but it doesn't change biology.
That may be the best part: handing over, giving up controll have no answer.
You still have a Mom? How lucky for you!I’m old enough now that nobody makes fun of me for living in Mom’s basement.
Is that what that is?That may be the best part: handing over, giving up control
As long as no one kicks my tires. For me getting old is very similar to what happened to our 1952 Ford 8N Tractor. As it aged different parts of it developed "problems". We fixed them as they happened. As the years went by, each month the problems started increasing. We spent a lot of time fixing it. Each time we did fix it, it was such a joy. Another lease on life. We could do what we needed to do with no problems. This is like old age. We fix stuff to keep us running. Who knows what will happen in the future?![]()
Time to just be, few "gotta dos".
Yes, they've been on earth for 15 minutes and know everything. We've been there also. I like learning and finding more things as I get older. That's where wisdom comes in ..... along with lifes experience. The best part of growing old???
Looking at the under 24 crowd, they don't know it, but they are so damn young. And they think they're all grown up. It's looking back at the stages of life, and it's the been there, done that and got the tee shirt. And I still got lots of stuff to do. Got to get more tee shirts.
