Years ago I nearly put someone on ignore and then later learned to mentally filter his comments at times. Guess some others got fed up with him and he was banned. I actually liked him, maybe not everything he said, by then. Too bad.

Like in real life, if you don’t like someone just go past them. It’s easy enough to do.

It's not so easy if you have to work with them or if they're a neighbor.

It's interesting that 60% have no one on Ignore yet around 5% have over 21 people on Ignore. I can't help wondering whether the ones who have over 21 on Ignore say more about them than the people they have on Ignore. They must be great people to work with.

People with a low tolerance for disagreement, conflict, or differing personalities versus those with patience, adaptability, and a willingness to engage with diverse views or even facts? You know who you are.

I'd say the bolded describes this post by showing your own low tolerance, yada yada. You know who you are.

p.s. I'm in neither the high nor low group.

Some people are very fragile and strongly wedded to strange beliefs. Sometimes they'll even admit they are too afraid to venture outdoors or into society. I'm not sure they should be using social media, since they seem susceptible to artificially-induced anxiety produced by those echo chambers. It doesn't help when they are hooked on violent crime and abuse soaps on television and in movies, which just feeds their disorder. Many are as old or older than my mother if she were still alive.

If it wasn't for their economic situation maybe they could be housed in some sort of care homes. Then their negative habits could be monitored and replaced by more healthy options as they get therapy to improve their emotional resilience. I hate to imagine how much of this stems from the abuse of recreational and prescription drugs and alcohol.

You think too much. It's not healthy.

That doesn't even make sense. Where is your logic and reasoning in your statement? Do you have anything less dismissive and muddled to say instead?

Nobody is on my ignore list at the moment. Over the years, everyone I've ignored long-term has eventually been booted by Matrix or left the forum of their own accord. Ignoring someone for a week or two is often long enough to put some space between me and them; after that I either cautiously read some of their posts or habitually pass them by.

Like @Buckeye, I have very little patience for long rants by conspiracy theorists or self-appointed health experts. We've recently attracted several of these, so for the first time since joining SF seven years ago, I note who's started a thread before bothering to click on it.

there are people who ignore me I know that..I don't care that they ignore me. Tat's their perogative everybody can't like everybody..it doesn't bother me... but the only one I

you can't walk away from people who insist on following you around the forum making derogatory remarks...

I remember the guy several years ago that spammed vile language posts after every recent post you'd made! Totally unhinged and very soon banned. He wasn't just a troll but was truly a mental case.

I put spammers on ignore (and report them) when I see them pop up. There was one spammer a couple of months ago who had several posts going at once. That was a fun one to put on ignore.

There have been some that I have "mentally" ignored but I never put them on my ignore list because sometimes when I need to humor myself I look to see what they have to say on certain topics.

yes you're right Annie, .. absolutely unhinged, and he was banned and he came back with 2 different Aliases after that to do the same again , if you remember..and was banned repeatedly..before he obviously ran out of IP addresses,

Unfortunately he's not the only person like that by a long chalk...they walk amongst us posing as normal people..

In a way, I find them entertaining, in a let fools be fools kind of way.

The older I get the less inclined I am to stand in the way of a Fool being a fool. I might on occasion even help them along in their endeavor.
I used to engage with them and got some of them really pissed off over the years. They're so emotional! :ROFLMAO:

I guess I just got tired of it.
