I thought my fridge had died overnight

Went to the freezer this morning and upon opening I saw ice everywhere, my first thought was, damn, fridge is not working and the freezer has defrosted.
Then I remembered that it is frost free. On closer inspection I noticed an exploded can of soft drink lemonade, Totally destroyed.
I obviously left a full can in the freezer.

No, it's obviously not dead. It's just got a COLD.

Next time put a small puncture in the top or just pull the tab enough for a slight "Psssssh!" Or you can do as I always do - put an ice cube (or two) in a glass and stick it in the freezer. It'll be ready anytime you are and the can and its contents won't need any preparation at all. (y)

Maybe time for a complete shut down and clean up. While you are at it, try to clean your defrost drain line, which can get clogged. Also thoroughly clean all dust from under and behind. Unfortunately for you, it is probably quite warm now. Nice to do this in weather where you can store items in bins outside or on the porch.
