USPS employee arrested for ‘smearing unknown substance’ on mailboxes

Not to bright for sure. You cannot miss the camera right there.
Apparently she'd been doing it for 8 months.. so she would have been used to not seeing a camera, so she wouldn't have been looking for it in her speed to get all the boxes smeared...bfore anyoe came for their mail

Just makes you wonder what goes on in people's heads.. especially as the home owners said they treated her very well...

psychotic dreams?

I've noticed its a tough job. Back in the 80's the senior mail man took of time
to skip tough days be it 100 F. or 10 F. Those who drive around for 5 hours or so
with the door open on the lil white noisy buss have it tough be it -2F or 96F. But,
The good ones put the mail at the back of the box, (Most all of it is Junk Mail)
It stays dry in bad weather and the rest just put it inside the door of the mailbox, where
It will get soaked. But, it is mostly Just Junk Mail. Bills get soaked if you do
Paper trail economics. They been doing it for so long I doubt they give a rats arss!
Most likely feedback lowers the volume of mail thus the delivery isn't so hard to sort.
"Well that's just the purr-fact thought isn't it for what's happening!

Maybe that person hit a mailbox on a bicycle when a preteen and just hates ! They used
BB bats back in the day.

I often wonder what it takes to be a mail'man'..
What kind of tests do 'they' take?
I often get other people's mail..can they read?

Is there a background test on them?

Service is getting..
Well..you know...

I tink it it is... and so does the media.. and the neighours it was happening to...
As far as the media......they put it out there and if people are react they'll keep pumping it up till people move on to the next headline.

She committed crimes and she should be fired and prosecuted, but other than being an annoyance at this point no one has suffered any physical injury. Compare it to cutting down The Sycamore Tree, for instance, or a hit and run car accident, both far worse. Or the following:

I find this story appalling on many levels. NYT 12/21/24 -

"A homeless woman said that she was going into labor in Louisville, Ky., when a police officer gave her a citation under a law that bans unauthorized public camping, according to her lawyer and body-camera footage released on Thursday."

"“I think if I had just totally ignored the fact that she’s violating unlawful camping statutes and she was claiming to have a medical emergency, then I think it would set the precedent, or at least reinforce with her, that saying you have a medical emergency is a ticket to get out of whatever it is that you’re doing that’s in violation of the law,” Lieutenant Stewart said."

Consider yourself lucky to get mail delivery. In our area we get to pay $205/year for a po box and must retrieve our mail from there several times a week.

I just watched one recently where a mail carrier was filmed throwing several totes of mail in a dumpster. Plus a few years ago my young mail carrier was shot and wounded by a homeowner. She was a foul mouthed, nasty and bitter woman. She pissed the wrong person off that day.
