Wow! I've known people who've broken their tailbones. Pretty much sidelined them with excruciating pain for weeks to months. Bruised tailbones weren't quite as bad, but still plenty painful.

I hope yours is only bruised and not broken.
I’ve broken my tailbone when I was a child. It never healed properly. It often gives me pain. I can’t sit on a regular chair for any length of time without excruciating pain.

My sister broke hers when she was about ten years old. She had terrible pain from it for several years - and not all PE teachers were sympathetic. Like yours, her tailbone still gives her trouble now and then.

54 years after mine got broken.. I can just be sitting here with no issues, then suddenly the pain will shoot me out of the seat like a lightening rod...

No, I'm not coming down with anything....it's already here! This is the season for sharing, so Dio gave me his head cold.

Thanks for caring. I'll be fine.....eventually! 😉
Use the "return to sender" option.
I hope you will be well to enjoy the holidays!

Cold and sunny out there. I am watching sparrows flitting in and out of nest boxes. We advertise lake front property with all day buffet at the pool house (feeders and bubble fountain) but this is not the time of the year to go courting.
One of our elderly is out of sorts over the Christmas market incident. That will be a looong phone call especially as her kids cancelled her 80th, Christmas and then stopping by for coffee today.
Bruises on both thighs are surfacing. SO shook his head and mumbled something about a doosie.
Procrastinating transferring bits and pieces of recipes into a book has to stop!
A fairly slow day interrupted by trying on penny loafers before the return option expires.
Inspiration where are you to help with the what is for dinner riddle?

2024 Achievements on this fixer upper house:

Some of this work was hired out, some I did myself.

1. Roof replacement (steel), which included rotten decking, insulation that had been wet, ice and snow dams installed. (Hired this out as I am too old now to do roof work). This included soffit and fascia replacements, which were also covered with steel.
2. Siding is rough sawn wood, board and bat, and the bottom foot of most of it was rotten (snow/ice/water damage). When removed, found some of the studs and sill boards were also very damaged. Am doing a wainscot with corrugated steel on the lower 30" since the upper walls were okay. This project is ongoing. I have done a lot of the work myself and it is slow going; winter is here so no more opening walls till late May. Now about 1/3 of the way done. Guess what I will be doing this summer, lol.
3. Replaced flooring in most of the house with commercial quality flooring (done by flooring company).
4. Bathrooms: Complete remodel (down to the studs) in one bathroom, partial remodel in the other. The most fun project on bathrooms was the pink and white bath. I will post another thread for that for those who may be interested.
5. Kitchen has new countertop/sink/faucet; new fridge; removed old dishwasher and placed a 6 gal water heater in that space that serves only the kitchen sink.
6. Removed old falling down stone fireplace and installed a propane heater, which meant bringing in a 250 gal propane tank, running lines, etc. (House was all electric.) Still need to trim out and finish the inside wall.
7. Completely tore down the deck outside the master bedroom and had it rebuilt, this time with Trex. No more sanding and painting every couple of years (lots of it was rotten anyway).
8. Many dead trees and brush removed and hauled away.
9. One whole outside wall was torn out and replaced, studs and all. Rotten to the core, it was.
10. The master bedroom was long and narrow and one wall was common with the kitchen. Took about five feet of that bedroom and made it a walk-in pantry for the kitchen. Bedroom is smaller but the pantry is Fantastic!!

Lots of other smaller projects, like painting and baseboard installations but this is long enough. I hope to be finished in the next two years, which will give me a solid home and a much lower bank balance.

@GoodEnuff After all of that, I'm too tired and too broke to continue. You go ahead without me:ROFLMAO:

So they were going to Publix to get the last (ha!) few things we need for Christmas. They decided they want monkey bread for breakfast Christmas morning. Fine. I told them to put a sack of frozen Rhodes rolls on the list.

Now where I come from, asking for Rhodes rolls is like asking for Kleenex...it's almost generic.

They came home with frozen but already baked Rhodes rolls. Huh? I didn't even know they could be had already baked. Thought they only come as frozen dough. Nope. Back to Publix. No frozen Rhodes rolls dough, only Sister Shubert's. Fine. Get those. It says on the package "for monkey bread." Sigh.

The brandied cranberries are in the oven. With just a wee bit more than the 4-5 tablespoons of brandy. A wee bit more. Just a tad. Merely an eyeful. For extra flavor;);):giggle:

Tomorrow is for baking stained glass cookies, DD's favorite. Can't make them any sooner or she'd eat them all before Christmas like she has with the Spritz.

I think I need an interpreter for all of that ^^^^:D

Drat, drat, drat.

DH is sick with a fever and cough. He started to feel unwell Friday morning. By yesterday morning he was running a fever between 100 -101.6. Down to 99.1 this morning, but it's not even 8:00 AM so we'll have to see where the day takes him.

I've been mostly sequestering (and sleeping) in another area of the house since Friday night. I'm wearing a mask anytime I'm in an area of the house he's inhabiting. He needs a fuller run of the house because his back can't take much lying-down time. Other than bedrooms/bathrooms we have an open floor plan.

I desperately don't want to be the next domino to fall. We've got crowds coming Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and again on the 27th. He should be past the worst of this today or tomorrow so those events coming off as planned will likely hinge on whether I can avoid catching this.

Fingers and tails are crossed. Your hubby will be on his feet tonight and you will not catch it!!!

Having the Spousal Equivalent's son and family over for an early Christmas dinner today. We're having a Mexican fiesta with all the trimmings.

Tomorrow morning, I'm going to Christmas with the Critters at the zoo. That includes the animal critters and the two little two-legged critters who call me MeeMaw. I JUST CAN'T wait to hit the Disney traffic.

Christmas Eve, we're on our own. Then Christmas morning, it's back in the car to fight our way past the Disney traffic AGAIN to go back to celebrate Christmas Day with the afore-mentioned two-legged critters and their parents.

What kind of commercial quality flooring did you choose? I've been thinking about having this done.

I especially like this because there is a very fine surface texture so it is NOT slippery when wet. It is very hard, doesn't easily scratch. I don't recommend this as a DIY install; it is glue down. Easy to clean, I damp mop with a string mop (remember those?).

In spite of what the designers say, that floors in entire house should be the same, floors in master bedroom and a small sitting room are different. Carpet in bedroom, waterproof plank "wood" in sitting area, also all commercial quality. If you are interested, can post pics of them.

Hope he;s well again soon and you stay well, SS!

@Jules There are a zillion different ways to make monkey bread. The one for breakfast that we're going to have is a butterscotchy, syrupy one with pecans. That's a little too sweet for me for first thing in the morning so I'll probably throw together some scrambled eggs and sausage, too.

When the g'kids were little, they used to like a pizza one.

I've also had it with ham, cheese and a tiny bit of horseradish.

I guess it's only limited by the imagination?

I did the same thing in 8th grade when I fell while ice skating. It hurt so bad during the act of sitting.. tears in my eyes. Lasted for months. Sorry you're still in pain.

Then, after I gave birth to my son, the same thing!
