I hate being under the weather, but I'm ok....really! It's just a head cold (no fever), that is starting to move into my lungs. I've started coughing so much that it gives me a headache. But there is good news: the stuff in my lungs is loose, so the coughing is actually helping.

Tomorrow we are expecting rain, but today just cloudy and dry. Since I need some cough medicine, today is the day to go in to town.

I have a whole cookbook full of handwritten recipes in cursive. Mixing up the cookie dough and wondering how anybody will be able to read old recipes in the future since cursive is no longer being taught in school.

Eating a bowl of pinto beans for breakfast because I need to eat something and don't feel like fixing anything. All I had to do with the pintos was heat them up.

In a little while, we're going to McD's to visit our favorite window lady. I'm going along because I haven't been out since Friday and am getting a little squirrely.

You can either type your recipes or teach the kids Cursive. What will they use as signature?

Gray and damp out there.
My bruises are coming to the surface. No short elf skirt for me:) Apparently I Also got the left shoulder and joint.
After breakfast an exercise in patients as in transferring accounts from one bank to another.
I have been making progress cleaning out SO's closet. It is slow going but going.
My friend in Alabama sounded good on the phone yesterday. Physical therapy, her accepting the fact that she needs a walker and her son visiting for Christmas is bringing her old feisty self out. It takes more than a broken pelvis to keep her down.
It will be a slow and pleasant day in Oklahoma:)

Kept the original stove... just in case... :) However, the wife can't live without the double oven setup.
Glad we kept this fridge too as I didn't expect the other one to die. You just never know.
When my kids were entering their teens I was fetching DD from a friend's house on a summer day. Her mom excused herself for a moment to check on dinner, but walked past the kitchen to the garage. (What???)

I knew her pretty well so didn't have qualms about asking Deb what was up when she returned. Seems when they moved into the house she had a range, fridge and sink set up in the garage next to her washer-dryer so the oven wouldn't fight the AC in hot weather. She said it came in surprisingly handy over the holidays, too.

By that time my kids were nearly grown, so I figured the hassle and expense weren't worth it, but what an ingenious idea, especially for people living in warm climates.

Maybe your wife will want you to hook up the older stove in the garage, SD. Not trying add to your honey-do list though. ;)

Happy Christmas/Hanukkah week to all!!

DH's fever didn't come back yesterday and it's still normal this morning. However, like @Trila's cold, it's moving into his lungs. Not serious but nevertheless I want no part of it. We are continuing to wear masks in the general areas of our house and I'll continue sleeping in a different wing until at least Friday night.

Christmas Eve is tomorrow. YIKES! Not sure how that crept up on me, but it did. Got a long list today so gotta jump. See you when I give myself those much-needed 20 minute breaks.

We visited our window lady and wished her a merry Christmas. McD's is open on Christmas Day, but she doesn't have to work...seniority.

Cookie dough is made and chilling. They'll get baked in another hour or so.

Just heard from DS. They bought an apartment-size washer, and it just got there. It only does small loads, but he doesn't care, and since he works from home he can tend to it and wash clothes whenever it suits him. He's over the moon to not have to spend $$ on the washers in their basement that rarely work. He'll still take the clothes to the dryers and doesn't mind that, but they were spending $15-$20/week to (maybe) get their clothes clean when their landlord wouldn't bother to fix the washers and "declined" to reimburse them for money spent when washers stopped mid-cycle. Oh...and water is included in their rent so no extra cost there.
Fingers crossed that the washer works the way it's supposed to.

Our temp has soared on up to a tropical 44. Sunny and no wind. Yay.

Welp, it is almost noon, and I just finished breakfast..!! Forgot
earlier, anyhoo, y'all can form a line to use a whip on me, I done
did it again....this 12x12 rug in living room been bugging me for
a long time, it had gotten crooked on the carpet, and had some
humps that I could trip on....so, today I got my two-wheel cart
and moved my recliner off of it, moved a table aside, and got
the danged rug straightned out!!!!!! my legs lasted thru fixing
my breakfast, and that is it for today, (maybe tomorrow too)!!!!
;);)o_O

what's classed as an apartment size washer , there ?... Most of our front loading washing machines are aout the same size... capacity around 9 kg....

Drove DH to VA, this morning an unscheduled trip.
Last evening I checked his hearing aide supply of batteries, cleaning supplies, ear wax filters: zippity!
He trudged inside to get his supply, while I waited outside in the car drinking my coffee.

Warm already today - 72 and it isn't noon. Only down to 54 last night.

The cup warmers came from Amazon. Thanks @hollydolly for the gift idea!!

I ate one of DD's cookies before taking them over to her kitchen so the total only amounts to two dozen plus eight. Thirty-two cookies. Shame on me.

Forgot to cash in my $8 winning lottery ticket. There's another mega millions drawing tomorrow night so maybe I'll just cash in the $8 winner and buy a ticket for $3 for tomorrow. I'll still have a net of $5 to p*ss away or invest.

Tonight's entertainment is the George C. Scott version of A Christmas Carol. There might be a different ending... I'll let y'all know.

@hollydolly It only does 3 lbs of clothes at a time. Maybe 1.5 kg? Not a lot, but they can do laundry whenever they feel like it so small loads not a problem.

ETA: I cheated. Made big cookies so that I didn't have to make a lot of them. Recipe usually makes 4 dozen. Today? Two dozen plus 9.
That sounds like a portable RV washer. Still beats doing unders in the sink.

He can get batteries auto shipped or upgrade to rechargeable.

Thanks. We are both hoping his next set will be rechargeable as changing batteries is getting to be challenging with hand arthritis causing dexterity issues for him. While he was there is got the information for auto shipping. Thanks again!

Well. Same ending as always. However, in this version, Fred's wife is named Janet? What? I could have sworn her name was Beth or Bess. Dickens named her Lily, I think. Or is that just in the Muppets version?

Now I'm gonna watch the "new" version of Miracle on 34th Street.

I just watched Calamity Jan.. I haven't seen that in donkeys years..so I watched it...cringe..lol

Morning folks.. a glorious sunny morning to start the day....🌞🌞 yesterdays' icy wind has dropped but its only 3 deg Brrrr......🥶

I have no set plans for today... exept the usual chores, but I may take the camera and go out and get some blue sky winter photos...

Anyone going Christmas shopping today or tomorrow ?... not me.. but util recently I've always liked the buzz of Christmas shopping on Christma eve
You brought back a sweet memory for me, HD. Decades ago, my youngest brother would call me up on Christmas Eve day and plead with me to go Christmas shopping with him. "Pleeeeease, Leann, I don't know what to get anyone. I need your help". I'd pretend to be annoyed but happily suited up to brace the cold and out we'd go. It was always fun, chaotic, and challenging. Then I'd take the gifts he purchased home with me to wrap them for him so he could give them to recipients on Christmas day at our family gathering. Those days are a part of the past now but will always be a fond memory.

Shortly after midnight I got busy cleaning the bathroom and kitchen floors, something I had been procrastinating about for almost a week. I also did "this and that" and wound up only getting 2-1/2 hours sleep. My son and I had eye doctor appointments this morning. She see us together. Since his appointment was somehow scheduled 45 minutes before mine at 8:15 and it wasn't as busy as it usually is, we got out way earlier than I expected. My glaucoma check up was good. Vision has not changed although sometimes it seems like it has.

Getting out an hour and a half sooner than I expected was good because we had plenty of time to stop at Dunkin and get home before the plumber was due. He wound up coming 45 minutes earlier than we had scheduled. Kitchen faucet installation went well. He's coming back tomorrow to change the bathroom faucet since it was determined parts to repair it are no longer available. After lunch, I took an impromptu nap that lasted several hours.

Made a quick dinner, caught up with posts on Facebook and posted a tribute to my husband who passed away seix years ago on Dec 23rd. While trying to catch up with posts here on the forum, I fell asleep at the computer.

It's Christmas Eve!!! 🎄

We are spending it with family so, presents are wrapped and packed, shopping is done and coffee has been drank, next I need to get my Christmas glad rags packed. Tomorrow will be busy but fun (I hope!).

However you are spending Christmas this year, I hope you have a happy one x 🤶

We celebrated with our daughter a few days ago, and with relatives at my sister's home this past weekend. Our Xmas will be spent at home, and if weather permits, a drive to a nearby town that we often inhabit.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Travel safely!
