My question was inspired by a previous post on inventions.
(By Bobcat = In your view, what inventions or people changed the course of history?)

IF you could invent something For the Future, what would it be?

My invention would be---- a Teleporting Machine.
A machine that take you from one point to another. A bit of Star Trek Voyager.
Just think, no more cars, trucks, pollution, car insurance, etc.

A deep brain stimulator (DBS) which will stop anyone from developing violent thoughts.
Before you consider this to be far fetched idea consider DBS is currently used to treat Parkinson's:

DBS Systems are implanted devices designed to put you in control of your symptoms, by precisely stimulating specific areas of the brain. These low electrical pulses help regulate the brain activity to better control your motor symptoms.

So the improvement would entail targeting brain waves which would cause a person to act violently.
No more domestic violence, No more school shootings. No more war.

This routine of once a year going to the doctor for blood tests and they tell you about cholesterol and other stuff. How about once a day! With a little pinprick test.

AI can tell you... no more Donuts this week! Eat a bag of Kale today!

I think they call that a lobotomy.

A method of taking pain away completely from the chronically sick... bad enough that people are dying, and may not even be able to get out of albed... but surely there has to be a way to stop the pain
That's morphine, Hols. But doctors won't just hand it out, sadly. My dad was on it when he was dying in a hospital. He would just drift from one morphine shot to the next.

its not Chic..tho'... morphine takes some of the pain away not all of it, and people who have horrible illnesses are doped up with morphine and some are still begging and crying with pain....and unfortunately it doesn't work on some people at all..that includes me...

OMG that's terrible. You'll have to take especially good care of your body then.

You can kind of do that with a DVR. It allows you to fast-forward through the commercials. For live shows, just wait 15 minutes before you start watching and then you can fast-forward through the commercials.
I do that with my DVR, as well as always have something queued up to click over. I really try to avoid ads.

It would be an inexpensive device or pill, perhaps that would permanently relieve people of their arthritic and other types of pain. People with sickle cell, lupus, fibromyalgia and other autoimmune diseases would benefit. So would those who suffer from cancer, migraines and pain from bodily injuries.

I would invent a worldwide 'system' that would make it completely impossible for any war between any country (or any other designation) to occur at any time for any reason. I have no idea how but that's what I would do.

Still in pain when taking morphine? Wow. I heard of that once before. When I was in the hospital a doc told me he was going to give me something that will take away the pain. He continued and said it lasts longer and is not as harmful as morphine. Unfortunately I never got the name of the drug. My sympathy goes to those who have that much pain.

I'd invent two things
#1 As Hollydolly says, non addicting pain relief
#2 A no fat pill, that lets you eat donuts and beer, for breakfast without weight gain. (That's the single guy's diet).
I'm all for that no-fat pill that allows you to eat anything without gaining weight!!! o_O
