No. I moved to Western Australia.
In Queenstown it rains 300 days of the year, 2.400 mm of rain per annum. 94"

It is wet, with the water dripping off the rock ceiling, hot and humid with all that water. It is dark, dirty and very noisy with all the machinery. Rather dangerous work. Rock falls kill miners.

I am glad you survived to tell about it. Do you have any health issues caused from working in the mine?

I ended up being a complete alcoholic whilst living and working in Queenstown. Cirrhosis at age 30.
Needed to leave or die early through alcoholism. So, yes, I would call that situational alcoholism.
Once I got away from that miserable, toxic environment I started to mend.
No other physical ailments through working underground.

Sounds like the Pacific Northwest (Washington State) or Hawaii...rains every day at 5pm in my experience.

Ladies it's supposed to rain a lot from yesterday thru the New Year here.
The upside is 50 F. leading thru the new year. Have you heard,

I always believed it was too tight Jockey shorts. Tighty-whities, Shortage of TP, that sort of stuff! I apologize to all those Enemas !
I mean the suffering, the embarrassing meeting with young hot Nurses and scrubs. You know I am so sorry !

When I was working out of the Carlisle, PA barracks, I received a call from our Dispatcher that West Virginia State Police had contacted us and was requesting assistance from Maryland and Pennsylvania that they had a Trooper in pursuit of a wanted felon and needed us to be on the lookout (BOLO) for a vehicle for which they gave all of the vehicle’s necessary information. Make, model, year, color, license plate numbers and VIN. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance at stopping the driver because Maryland caught the suspect.
