Cops misbehaving in the US

Those numbers are actually fairly trivial compared to other much more dangerous jobs such as construction worker or logger.
That is comparing apples to oranges.

If someone, such as "A" who is clearly biased and set on making LEOs out the bad guy all the time, they need to research more how many LEOs are injured, maimed, killed, their families harassed, etc. There are always two sides to stories.

For the number of contacts with the public, and the mentality of the public in general, I think LEOs do an excellent job and we need to support them.

We should not reinforce negative stereotypes which clearly endanger LEOs even more, such as what "A" has on here.

If you have a beef take it up with whoever put a burr under your saddle. What did LEOs do to you?

I think we'll see a natural lag.

A lot of people open their heads and let the MSM pour in whatever the scripts tells the news actor to say. Those scripts are written based on party leadership direction.

Even when the leadership changes its tune (as it has) it takes time to make an impact on the news script writers and from there the talking heads. It takes even longer for the sheeple to be reprogrammed by the MSM.

So there's a huge disconnect between insiders like James Carville right now and those they ultimately puppeteer. He's been expressing regret for over a month on the "defund the police" gambit they had played. Who'd a thunk it would only appeal to extremists? :ROFLMAO:

What does it matter what astrological sign they are? Hmmm... weird.

NYT 12/19/2024 - "A former police chief in West Virginia was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Thursday for paying a woman $100 to twice sexually assault her 17-year-old stepdaughter and then trying to cover it up, federal prosecutors said.

The man, Larry A. Clay Jr., 58, of Fayetteville, W.Va., was chief of the Gauley Bridge Police Department and a deputy with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department when he forced himself on the girl in June 2020, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia."

"New York City’s second-highest-ranking police officer, who served as chief of department, abruptly resigned Friday night following allegations of sexual misconduct, according to the Police Department. The former top chief, Jeffrey Maddrey, submitted his resignation and Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch accepted it Friday night, according to a statement from the department.

“The N.Y.P.D. takes all allegations of sexual misconduct seriously, and will thoroughly investigate this matter,” the statement said. The New York Post reported Saturday morning that Mr. Maddrey had traded overtime for sexual favors from a subordinate, sometimes demanding sex at Police Headquarters.

On Saturday, another former subordinate, Capt. Gabrielle Walls, said in an interview that Mr. Maddrey had repeatedly made advances on her. Captain Walls said she had hid in her office on more than a dozen occasions to avoid advances from Mr. Maddrey. If he found her, she said, “I knew it was when the kissing would start.”"

Police work can be frustrating at times, but none of us has the right to thrown someone on the ground or put them in a headlock because they fail to comply or cooperate. We have to keep our cool and follow the constitution and laws.

If for some reason you can’t do that, then maybe that person should look for other work.

NY State Correction Officer's get in on the action. Follow the link to the videos at your own discretion. There are many portions redacted and apparently no sound so one can only imagine what wasn't shown and what you can't hear. The victim is surrounded by officers yet NONE step in, WTF???

NYT 12/27/2024 - "Corrections officers handcuffed an inmate and shackled his legs while punching and kicking him in the groin and chest during a fatal attack at a prison in central New York this month, video footage released publicly on Friday shows.

The footage was recorded by body cameras worn by four of the officers. It was made public by Letitia James, the state attorney general, as part of her office’s investigation into the death of the man, Robert Brooks, and the beating that preceded it.

Among other things, the videos show one correction officer using a booted foot to kick Mr. Brooks, whose face is bloodied, and then force him onto his back on an infirmary examination table while another officer punches Mr. Brooks in the upper body."

Police never seem to learn that you can't beat the crap out of people, even if they're disrespecting you. Some of these cops are going to wind up going to prison over this stupid act.

The police don't benefit from beating someone to death. Obviously, the guy they're beating doesn't benefit. The public doesn't benefit.

When you do something from which nobody benefits, that's one definition of "stupidity" as defined by Carlo M. Cipolla in his essay entitled The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity.
"A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses."

Obviously, not all cops are stupid, but too many are. What's also obvious is that cops need a better way to restrain people without having to beat the crap out of them.

I believe these were Correction Officers that beat this man, who I also believe that his name is Robert Brooks. According to what I read from the bulletin sent by the New York Governor’s office, 14 Correction Officers were released, plus 2 Sergeants and a nurse who stood by and witnessed the beating without intervening. Some of the CO’s had turned on their body cameras and the videos from those cameras are being used as evidence to release the Officers involved and the videos will also be used in court if necessary.

Cop breaks old mans neck

The old man was 5' 3" and weighed 115lbs and fighting cancer.

The longer police criminality is tolerated and protected by prosecutors and citizens the longer the abuse will continue. The officer did indeed commit a felony and was rightfully charged. It's despicable behavior on part of the State AG to protect this cop before he had to stand trial.

AP 12/5/24 - "Sgt. Joseph Gibson, 28, was charged in Oklahoma County with one count of aggravated assault and battery in connection with the Oct. 27 dispute. Body-worn camera video released by police shows Gibson throwing Lich Vu to the ground after Vu touched Gibson during an argument following a non-injury traffic accident.

“We evaluate the law and the facts in each individual case, and in this particular case determined the officer’s actions were an unreasonable use of force,” Behenna said in a statement.

Vu suffered a brain bleed, and a broken neck and eye socket and remains hospitalized, prosecutors said."
