The city is called "Woven City", and it is located at the foot of Mt Fuji. The city will be one where humans and AI robots will live together and continually refine how they interact with each other. The company has announced the completion of phase one and is set to begin phase two of the project that is estimated to cost around 10 billion. Self-driving cars, all types of robots, drones, and AI will be an integral part of living and working in the city with humans. It will be a living laboratory of sorts.

The first inhabitants are scheduled to move in by this fall (Mostly Toyota employees), and other will arrive later. It will give other companies and inventors a controlled environment to test their technology products to see how well they perform in domestic situations. Also, it will allow an opportunity for NASA and other space agencies to refine plans of how non-earth colonies can function more efficiently alongside robotics and AI.

Nothing was mentioned about tourist money coming in from visitors, but I'm fairly sure it will be a source of revenue they wouldn't likely turn away.
It's a bold venture, but it could pave the way as a model for society as a whole in the future.

There are several of these projects around the world but I had never heard of Babcock Ranch, Florida.

Babcock Ranch | The Hometown of Tomorrow

The trend locally is to build densely populated self contained walkable neighborhoods with a mix of housing, retail, office space, etc…

We have three on the drawing board but none of them have a mix of income based options, they are definitely targeted at the haves and I guess that’s to be expected.

It will be interesting to see where the people that support the daily operation of these communities live.

Maybe they think by the time these places get going, there won't be any more "have nots".

Unless they come up with the "fountain of youth" formula soon most of us will only view the very infancy of this new technological world. We could let our imagination run completely wild at what can be done with dream technology of all kinds. Our children and the generations that follow will be transformed by it. I have a feeling that AI will be as prevalent in societies more than anything else. But it is impossible to know for sure how it is going to unfold.

Creepy. Not just on the level of continuing to make us dependent on AI but - worse - larrge corporations. Bringing back the creepy corporate town much where we'll owe our soul to the company store?

God, I hope I take a nice peaceful dirt nap before all these changes occur. Apologies offspring for bringing you into this nightmare.
