I'm in NYC. We do not have this problem. The surgery must be imperative and timely. We have the same problem over here. I hate this for you, it sure doesn't help with the aniexty of just having to have surgery. Good luck, hope you do well.

I am about to schedule inguinal hernia surgery 3 months ahead and have the same awkward post surgery requirements using someone I know or a relative. They apparently want someone that can monitor the operated on afterwards besides just being involved in transportation. Of course, the driver probably won't unless they live with others free with time to do so. But that isn't the point as this is really about lawyers.I can't do that much as that sounds like a nice plan because I'm not allowed to drive to the hospital because when I get discharged I'm not allowed to drive for a couple of weeks at least.....I have to take an expensive cab to the hospital which is not in my town...... so if they cancel my surgery, I have to take an expensive cab in return... whereas, my daughter has planned to come down here which is a 2 hour drive for her.. and collect me from the hospital the day of my discharge....so it will be a total disaster all around if they cancel the surgery on the day
I feel bad for you....being put in this situation.you talk sense.. however please do remember if I chose to cancel the surgery I will go back onto a very long NHS waiting list that's my dilemma...
I have had all my treatment via BUPA, because it meant no waiting more than a few days for MRI's and cat scans... on the NHS it's many months waitWhen I worked at IBM, I, Mrs. L and our children were covered by BUPA. I only ever used them for physio.
If you have a chronic condition then the doctor needs to bill the visit as a checkup for that. I have a chronic condition and my yearly visit is always covered. Ask your doctor to rebill it with the appropriate code unless you have no such issues.Although my medical care has been good so far under Medicare and a supplement, I see that they did not cover my annual physical. So, they will cover if I get a disease but not preventive care.
I hope this changes under new administration.
it's a good thing you're not superstitious, it's supposed to be bad luck to keep Christmas decs up past 12th night..Hello! I'm getting a late start this morning. Goober has not been a good boy, in the house. He has taken up part of my morning.
I know that I have not been here for several days....I've been spending less time online.
Yesterday I took down, packed up, and stored all of my Christmas decorations, except for the tree of course. That will stay up for another week or so.
This will be the coldest day of the week. Since the Christmas decorations are gone, it should be a good day to start a major house cleaning!![]()
Is NHS the only insurance in the UK?you talk sense.. however please do remember if I chose to cancel the surgery I will go back onto a very long NHS waiting list that's my dilemma...
Turn up the heat, make coffee, try to think about something that makes you happy. What makes you happy?Morning all folks!!! Welp, i am here, about the same but
with better attitude, I think!! It is only 7 F degrees out there,
no wonder this house feels so cold....brrrrrrr.....dunno if that
snow that fell is ever gonna melt, with these kind of temps...
may order groceries today, I think the drive/walk is okay
for delivery person.....catch you later!!!![]()
it's not insurance it's what we've paid or out of our salaries all our lives to give us ''free at source'' care.. but even those who have never paid into the system are entitled to 'free care''.. that's people who have never worked a day in their lives, and immigrants who have just arrived and that's one of the reasons the NHS is struggling now...Is NHS the only insurance in the UK?
They do cover an annual wellness visit with the nurse. That is fine for my purposes for now. The Medicare manual clearly states it doesn't cover routine physicals. If you have a chronic condition then the doctor needs to bill the visit as a checkup for that. I have a chronic condition and my yearly visit is always covered. Ask your doctor to rebill it with the appropriate code unless you have no such issues.
Christmas decorations, lights, whimsical characters, etc....bring me joy! I like seeing them and having them around!it's a good thing you're not superstitious, it's supposed to be bad luck to keep Christmas decs up past 12th night..
Me , I didn't have any up this year but usually I take them down on new Years day
I've been searching for the bonjela for my mouth ulcers.. can't find it anywhere... I know I have some somewhere.. you'd think it woul be in the vanity with the toothpaste and brushes but nope...![]()
no they're not cold sore, they're mouth ulcers, and I even got a blister on the gum where my front teeth meet the gum... just horribleChristmas decorations, lights, whimsical characters, etc....bring me joy! I like seeing them and having them around!I usually leave everything up until mid January, leaving the tree for another week after everything else is put away.
I'm sorry about your mouth ulsers. I think it's what I call cold sores or canker sores. I get them all the time....they really are painful! I haven't found anything that really helps.....I just whine and complain!
David777 I cannot make head or tails of your post. Have you discussed your living arrangements with the patient advocte of the facility? What insurance are you using?I am about to schedule inguinal hernia surgery 3 months ahead and have the same awkward post surgery requirements using someone I know or a relative. So this points to lawyers that are ridiculously afraid if one does not pay for an overnight hospital bed stay, some rich person's lawyer might sue the hospital. I hate how our legal profession for their own $$$ benefit has allowed so much of this nonsense in our societies.
I am really sorry to hear that.it's not insurance it's what we've paid or out of our salaries all our lives to give us ''free at source'' care.. but even those who have never paid into the system are entitled to 'free care''.. that's people who have never worked a day in their lives, and immigrants who have just arrived and that's one of the reasons the NHS is struggling now...
BUPA is the elite medical insurance here.. but all other medial insurance companies cost around the same price.. and now at knocking on the door of 70...the premiums are way more than I can afford now
