Listening to a Reporter, she said, “You Know, at least 15 times in a 4 minute report

Another word is “like” some just can’t string a few words together without saying “like“~ like”

Like, I hear you, you know?

One of the first things I learned in Buddhism 101 was to actively listen to what I was saying and how I was saying it. It was great fun. I found out I rarely listened to what I was saying ( I was 37 years old ). Then I would get going and forget ( intentionally ) to listen. This one lesson that changed my entire way of communicating. :)

My pet peeve is when they start off answering every question with "Yeah, sure, so . . . "
Mine too. They will answer a question like, "Where were you?" with "Yeah" when it was not a yes or no question and start the conversation with, "So" when it was not a continuation of anything. This is on NPR where you expect to listen to intelligent people...although lately it tends to sound like, 'bring your little girl to work day."

Reporters nowadays, especially local TV station news reporters, are awful.

Poor grammar, mispronunciations, stumbling and bumbling their lines.

Most too young to be doing the job, but that's what the owners want... good looking empty heads.

I can barely watch it anymore.

I keep the volume on mute and only unmute it when the weather forecast comes on.
