I'm old and hungry for life

I look around and am amazed at how fast time has gone. There is still so much I want to do.
I know it bugs me every day... even if someone told me I had a gauranteed 30 years left, I still because of nature.. wouldn't be able to do all that I'd like to do....

I feel that as long as I don't get any kind of horrible disease, now at 69, I probably have 10 good years to be fit enough to still do all I'd like to..

I think ya lists too long!!

My father told me that life is a race and there are no breaks. Pretty deep when you think about it.
there was a thing in the paper t'day..

...Clint Eastwood age 90 said something along the lines of.... he didn't expect when he got to 90 he wouldn't have anyone close by who loved him... he didn't expect his bones to hurt all the time and not work as they should... he didn't expect that his lungs would be crying out just to have a bit of a rest... and he didn't expect that his eyes would hurt so much that he would have to always rest them...

or ya mind is too expansive?
what are you talking about ?...I am relatively young, I think like a young person, I walk and talk like a young person... why would my mind think I can do more than I can in the next 10 years ?

this is me less than 10 years ago...barring serious illness or injury , why wouldn't I be fit enough for the next 10 years to do what I want?... you have no idea....

You have more than ten years left if longevity runs in your family and you don’t develop debilitating arthritis.

Just keep moving and keep the muscles fluid. My human chiropractor and a few doctors have told me that is why I am still moving. I have a lot of trauma arthritis in my back and neck from re-schooling horses that were ruined by stupid humans and riding my snowmobile like it was the General Lee on “The Dukes of Hazzard”.

I am 77, walk with a cane, wear a back brace, brought this all on myself and I refuse to quit as long as I have a horse or two to care for. Everyone has a passion in this life to keep them sane, or at least they should have; mine happens to be horses since I was two years old😇😇

Just keep doing what you’re doing @hollydolly 🤠🤠

I have arthritis ... I've had it quite a few years...I had it in the above picture even then, I have it much worse now , mainly in my fingers and knees, I get steroid injections to keep the pain at bay.... long life doesn't run in my family.. father and paternal grandmother lasted longest to 82... the rest all died younger... except one great grandfather who was run over by a bus in his 90's...truth!

I have canes..because I have a problem now with with herniated discs ( again I had that in the above picture and before that) .. so every now and again, I have to use the canes but not often..otherwise I walk just as I did when i was 21...

However aside from naturally looking older facially..I've really changed very little in the last 10 years since that photo was taken..

No-one in my family ever had to resort to canes in their older age..no grandparets, no parents, no older realtives.. and none of my siblings...

You look great, soun intelligent and happy. Me too. I am older than you but expect to be around a good 10 yrs

I can believe that we loose about 1% of our stuff every year after 65.
That concludes one having a good physical capability at 65. At 65
one most likely has lost 5% of what he had at 55. Most likely loosing
5% of what he had at 45.

That most likely means -20% of what cha could do at mid 40's to mid 70's.
So, you still can walk 4 miles. Be it possibly a lil slower and take longer,
with a stop or 2 added in there to look at the surface of a lake, have birds
land near and see water loving stuff swim around, fish a splashing at cha,
that sort of stuff.

Odds are though that a power chair, EV 3-wheeler would be a wiser choice.
Of course having a 6,000 / 10,000 / 14,000 Steps Day plans is a great plan.

I avoid low chairs myself, Pneumatic Office chairs at highest setting lets me free to go.
Around 15 years ago I decided to add working offices to 4 rooms in the house, that
includes my Man Cave Office. I travel around the offices nearly every day using usually
2 or 3 every day.

Why downsize when I can keep those offices busy. My Wife also
has her own office. Cause she is still working daily. That means 5 offices in the home.
Each as capable as another.

Why downsize to a small place when we are working the heck out of this one.
It's easy to get 6000 steps in each day. Many times going 8000. I don't
try to keep a set schedule, my wife does. Sometimes its the Winter Blah's
and I up most of the night. Long days change that, to bed earlier; up earlier.

We both have Fitbits and know what our stuff is doing. Blood pressure, heartbeat,
steps, that sort of thing and can check it on our phones all the time if needed.
