Notes from Pappy's diary

Am new here, Pappy and Thelma. We are getting cold here in the "retirement" town of Tucson, Arizona, too! We just got one of our average of 5 2-5 freeze nights..nothing lower than 28 here, either.

You two are a lovely couple. How many children did you two raise?
Thelma and my cousin have the same first name!

Happy belated birthday, and New Year!
Thank you CCCCPs. We raised three great kids, all but one is retired. 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Busy family..😁
Passed through Arizona back in 58. Took Route 66 all the way to Illinois and then on to NY.

I had another TURP surgery this morning. I am home and doing good. Now the healing process begins.
My daughter flew done from NY and is taking care of me. She’s a nurse and will do what she says.

Rainy, cold, windy miserable day today. Forecast for the week doesn’t look much better. Didn’t want to wake up after the procedure. But the warm blanket the nurse covered me with after was heaven.

Sue will going back Friday, and Saturday my son and DIL will be for a few days.

The worst part of the operation is wearing a bag for a few days.
Not much more I can think of right now. Still a bit groggy from anesthesia.
Good day to all…PAPPY

Day 3 of recovery and so far so good. If any of you have had to wear a urine bag you know the discomfort they cause. Hopefully it will be removed this Monday. Doctor trimmed a bit off the prostrate and lots of bleeding for a while. Second, and for damn sure the last time I’ll do this.

Some action up the street from us earlier. A gal with her live in boyfriend had a big yelling fight right out in the street. No one would miss them if they got kicked out of here. It’s not the first time it’s happened.

My nurse, daughter, is on a plane headed home to Poughkeepsie, NY. She was such a big help and I love her to death for taking care of her dad. My son and DIL will be here Saturday night for a visit. I won’t be doing much while they are here but be so glad to see them. Jeff is my executor and need to go over a few things with him.

Getting sleepy and need a nap. Have a good day..Pappy

Great to hear that you have family taking good care of you @Pappy.
Take care 🤗

Free at last.

Let me explain by backing up two weeks ago. Jan. 21st, I had my second prostrate procedure. It had grown so large doctor had to remove

some of it with a procedure called TURP.

Surgery went well and catheter could come out in five days.

Then urine started turning bright red so off to ER we went. Hospital folks flushed out the clot and all was better after that but, ….doctor told me catheter must stay in another whole week. My response was you’ve got to be kidding. In order to shorten this fiasco up I’ll just say free at last. Visiting nurse took out catheter this morning and I feel like a freed jailbird. I carried that urine bag around for 13 days and it hurt every time I changed positions.

In my normal life, things are looking up. Getting some supplies for my new air fryer ordered from Amazon, olive oil and sprayer and the parchment papers that you put in basket to keep it clean. Also got a book on how to cook different foods and temperatures needed to cook them correct. All new to me as I’ve never had an air fryer before. Any helpful hints appreciated.

That’s enough for today so I’ll just say have a great day.

Pappy

everything seems so dry from them?? - they seem to do the job ok but haven't met one with a long life span - you may outlive it Pappy??

Congrats on being a freebird again! YAY! I don't own an air fryer, can't help with that; just am not a gadget buyer. Let us know what you think?

the AIR around these parts is so pure it sure as hell don't need fryin??
