This week the temps are running about 30 degrees colder than normal. Yesterday the frigid air was accompanied with high winds and mixed precipitation but I had necessary appointments to get to. Today it is just cold and sunny. Will bundle up and run some errands and appreciate the lack of wind and rain.

I haven’t actually priced eggs in weeks.. with all I’ve been hearing, eggs are off the menu for a while. Recipes with eggs get an immediate swipe…. Good thing I don’t have to mess with an egg hunt this Easter

Today has been semi-relaxed compared to the last couple days of working. I’ve knitted, had devotions, several cups tea/coffee, had my hair trimmed, put a book on hold at the library and picked up forms to renew my passport

The rest of today will feature some computer work, a quick trip to grocery store and visiting Ed. I might even wedge a nap in there somewhere.
Surprisingly, I've found that I like egg whites in the carton. I get Kirkland (Costco) brand. I've even subbed it for chopped hard boiled egg in my broccoli salad when I was out of eggs. My son found a dozen eggs at Amazon Fresh for around $3.50 (another surprise). Next time he goes, if they are too much higher, I won't get them. I am going to tell him to get two cases of egg whites on his next Costco run though. Hopefully their price hasn't increased too much. For the longest, they've been
My missus and I were awake most of the night, her recovery continues, but last night was a difficult night and I must have picked up on the vibes. We were back in bed before five and hoping that she gets some restful sleep, I went and laid down in another bedroom.

Later this morning, taking her tea and toast, she regaled me with an eight o'clock phone call. Being that time she didn't think of looking at the incoming number, she assumed that it was a friend or relative and might be important. It was a telemarketeer, selling goodness knows what.

He kicked off: "Hi I'm David....." and before he got into his spiel she gave him both barrels: "David, it's 8:00 o'clock, I am old, I've had a sleepless night, I am recovering from heart surgery and the worst thing you could have done is to call me before I have had my sociability cup of tea. NOW GO!" She then hung up.

The lady has since enjoyed her tea and toast, I was rewarded with that engaging smile of her's when I presented her with a second cup of piping hot tea. She tells me that I make a good cup of tea. I wouldn't know, I have never been able to drink it, don't even like the smell of it. A Brit that hates tea, worse, a Brit that drinks coffee, black and strong without any sweetener. And none of that instant muck either.
I pray your Mrs. has a full recovery. It's good that you two are able to get out and about. What a great husband you are. A Wow!...that you don't like tea and even a bigger WOW! that instead you like strong, black coffee with no sweetener! I love my Folgers instant coffee....been drinking it for decades. I add Coffee Mate sugar free hazelnut (powdered) creamer. Ground coffees

A couple of months ago, I found a great price on three 8 oz jars on Amazon. Since I mostly drink tea now, those will last me a long time. And I won't have to worry about the projected rising coffee prices. Brewed coffees I've had that were good were at Dunkin Donuts and McDonald's.

We're back. It took a while because we went Walmarting, too. DGD wasn't going to come along on the Walmart leg, but changed her mind. The good part is that since she wasn't interested in melatonin, cat treats, groceries, she just wandered around in clothes and stuff while we did our own stuff.

Our McD's lady is going to work at an assisted living facility close to us. DD promised her that we'd stop by to see her...just one thing: anybody remember the episode of the Golden Girls when they went to the assisted living place and took Sophia along? And left her there? It was called something like Shady Pines? I'll have to be careful... ;).

Daughter got new chicks yesterday. I dont know what breed. They are currently living in the garage under heat lamps until they are old enough and the weather moderates enough for them to move into the barn. Her current flock of ladies have reached the end of their egg laying lives so this is the new team. There will be six more joining them when some Rhode Island Red chicks become available.

Kinda neat to hear them peeping out there. When I was a boy, farmers would receive baby chickens by mail and our little country post office would be full of that sound when a large shipment arrived.

I find something to buy at a feed and seed to peek at the fuzzy little balls for sale there.

A doctor prescribed me tramadol for ear pain. I'm already stressed out about stage 4 cancer. They know I have a history of depression and several suicide attempts. Just holding the bottle triggered me and I threw them out. What were they thinking?....SMH.
