I have no idea. I don't know how much the eggs cost the store or how they are purchased, ie, contract, bid, etc. Lots of other items have shown large increases in the past 60 days. Some of those have to be items that can be increased to make up for loses elsewhere. I no longer drink pop ( soda for those of you on the east coast), but I can't believe what the prices are for it, almost $7 for a 12 pack, yet I see shopping carts ringed with them emulating tug boat bumpers.Full shelves. As of today, my local Walmart has large eggs for $5.97 a dozen.
