How are egg prices in your locale?

On the 25th of Feb, 6.95/ dz for regular, and 7.10/ for freelance or something. No shortage, the shelves were filled with them in the cooler.

Full shelves. No Shortage. Price Gouging comes to mind.

I have no idea. I don't know how much the eggs cost the store or how they are purchased, ie, contract, bid, etc. Lots of other items have shown large increases in the past 60 days. Some of those have to be items that can be increased to make up for loses elsewhere. I no longer drink pop ( soda for those of you on the east coast), but I can't believe what the prices are for it, almost $7 for a 12 pack, yet I see shopping carts ringed with them emulating tug boat bumpers.

Powdered eggs looking good right now....lol.
Now I've never served in the US military but I bought dehydrated whole egg powdered and believe you me that is the nastiest stuff you'll ever taste.

I also did scrambled egg dehydrated and that stuff is excellent so that's your warning....

Served several years in the Army. I've done that one

Eight more chicks were added to my Daughter's new flock (now 14 babys) last night and four birds from the old team are still laying so in a couple of months the production line should be once again supplying all the eggs we need and then some.

A dozen jumbo eggs go for $6.50 at the store so buying and feeding your own chickens is not a huge money saver, but in their own goofy way the birds provide entertainment. Plus the freshness and taste of the eggs can't be beat. Five minutes from the nest to the pan.

These prices here in Thailand are from April of last year. Duck eggs were 4.60 Baht each so that comes out to about $1.62 U.S. a dozen. Chicken eggs are cheaper at 3.60 baht each so a dozen chicken eggs would cost about $1.26 U.S. a dozen. Personally, I much prefer duck eggs over chicken eggs. Food here in Thailand is high quality and generally better than in the U.S. except for Beef. You cannot beat American beef----though I will readily admit the best hamburger I ever ate was in London many years ago.
