I just used a thumbs up emoji. I am almost 100% certain that's the first time I've used an emoji in here. I found it oddly satisfying, but I don't see myself using them all the time.

How do you feel about them? Do you use them a lot, rarely? I don't mind them at all, really. It's just not my style.

Thinking about it, I venture to say we've come full circle. They're actually hieroglyphics for the computer age.

I do..I use them a lot..if not, the written word can be so easily taken out of contect with no way of ascertaining nuance etc...

It might help to realize that all 26 "Latin" letters seem to have pictograms as their origins. They were only adapted to quasi-phonetic spellings later, and went through many variations both before and after that.

I use emojis a lot, they help convey thought and contextual feeling in the internet communications environment, where you can't pick up cues from voice or facial expressions.

You can actually click on the smiley face here and it will give you all sorts of emoji's. You can go into Search at the top and put in something like "yawn" or "drool" and it will come up.

Apparently with texting iPhones misinterpret some emojis sent from Androids.

As you know disagreements happen yet this forum is civil , sure there are disagreements but not bad . Humans will disagree .

I used to go to fish forum as keeping freshwater planted tanks is my love and the FIGHTS over fish keeping was to much .

I mean seriously we can all agree that Sterbai Cory catfish do not do well under 74 degrees .
