Yes, I agree that that's true. Doesn't mean I can't exercise my imagination and entertain certain wistful reflections. So what will I say?...any change back then would have altered everything that came after, and I've had a good life.
I had one brother and no sisters. As a consequence, I guess I had less rapport with girls in my early and mid teens than did guys who had sisters. And I think that was an impediment in my first experiences with girls at dances and parties. Maybe if I'd paid a little more attention to girls and what they liked to spend their time doing, and eavesdropped more on their conversations (learning what they liked to talk about), I might have been less awkward by the time I was 15 or 16. I'd have avoided some blunders. !!
