What would you change if you could “reset” your teenage experience?

With the knowledge I got in my 20s and later I'd have changed myself in my early teenage years in a very fundamental way. But I don't want to go into detail.

That's too bad. I'd like it if someone would export it to us.
Not possible, as Che proved, to my dismay as well as yours, Trade. Surprised to see this reference and knowledge. Out of the past, was it '67? Think so. Amazing times, right?

I would have passed my HS physical to play sports. The Dr was out of the 1920's and flagged me with a condition that was already typically accepted as normal. No sports screwed me up for awhile.

I went out for football at the end of my sophmore year thinking it would help me get girls. But I was just kidding myself. Back then I was beyond help in that category. There is no way to get a girlfriend when you are too terrified to even talk to one. Spring practice was for the 20 days in shorts, t shirts and helmets. No pads were allowed in spring practice.

You had to play in at least 20 quarters during the season to get a letter. By the end of spring practice I figured the only way I was going to get into a game was if we were 40 points ahead (not likely) or 40 points behind (more likely) and there was only about 2 seconds left on the clock. So I never went back in the Fall.

Besides that it was hard. On the first day of Fall practice Coach would have his "weed out the quitters day" where he made everyone run wind sprints until they puked trying to get people to quit. I decided to pass on that. Looking back I kind of wish I had stuck it out. Just like I wish I had stuck out a lot of other things that I ended up quitting.

As much as I might fantasize about how "It might have been" the reality is it would probaly be more like what that guy who said "where ever you go, there you are" If given a second chance I would most likely screw things up just as badly, or maybe even worse that I did the first time around.

Only change I'd make was not taking more advanced Math and Science classes when they were offered.
Two of my teachers recommended me, but those classes were for 'Geeks' and 'Brainer's'.

Really believe if I hadn't done my high school years on an Island and the call of the ocean so strong,
I'd have done very well in those classes.

Same thing with cars at this time.

No real 'Muscle' cars on an Island where the top speed on one Hiway was 45 MPH.
So cars have always been for me, getting from point A to point B and back to A, never about how fast they could go.
It was Hard later in life, to join into conversations about 'Hot' cars my friends owned.

Environment can play a big part on how you perceive your younger self.
