Is "weed" legal in your locale?

Colorado. Yes and yes. There were two pot shops, privately owned, in this small town of 2,000 pop. but one was shut down by the state (don't know why). The other was recently bought out by some national corporation out of Denver.

I don't partake as it makes me porcelain-hugging sick.

They legalized it here last year, though I haven't seen any dispensaries pop up locally. I'll have to ask my sister, she and her husband have been life long weed smokers, they will know where the closest store is. lol

Weed was frowned upon where I grew up. So I never partook or thought much about it. (Underage alcohol consumption was tolerated.) I think its still not legal in Georgia.

Why? Are you planning on using? ☺️
No way - I wouldn't use it if they were giving it away. I was just curious. A local pizza shop/deli closed recently and a weed shop opened in its place - right across from the public library. It seems every time a store goes OOB, a pot shop opens there. Seems there are more of those now than even liquor stores.

Not being into nipple clamps, electric butt plugs, binge drinking, and drugs myself I don't follow such things in detail. It is "legal" here at the State level though, I just don't know to what extent. There are plenty of shops selling it though, the closest being next door to a day care center for preschool kids.

I get the idea that use is still fairly restricted yet in most of Europe though.

Here in Connecticut Marijuana is legal. However, I once tried Medical Marijuana for pain in my left leg and the left leg ended PARALYZED for 30 minutes. I remember I had to buy it for CASH, only, and it was being sold in a place guarded by POLICE!

Yup, I'm 30 miles or so north of Albany NY. Dispensaries have been popping up like weeds (no pun intended:), even in somewhat conservative areas, like mine.

I also know life long weed smokers who smoke for recreation and now in their 70s with lung/breathing issues.

I won't apologize for not understanding how people can be so foolish in their belief that smoking/inhaling anything burning at the end of your mouth will not have a negative affect on your lungs in the long run. Especially in 2025 with all the health information we have at our fingertips.

IMHO medicinal marijuana being used for terminal illnesses is the only acceptable use.

I knew you would never consider it. I was just joking with you. I no longer use it now anyway.

Marijuana has been legal to use, grow in Canada for 8 years now. Any one over the age of 19 can buy it . The legal age to buy alcohol is either 18 or 19, depending on which Province or Territory you live in. The legal age to vote in elections is 18. Our Grand Daughter who turned 18 this January, cast her first ballot in the Ontario Provincial election on January the 27th. Those Canadians who were convicted of "simple possession of Marijuana "in the past, had their criminal convictions erased when the law changed in 2018, so they no longer have a criminal record.

A person in Canada can still be charged with "impaired by drugs" while operating a vehicle or a boat, if they test positive on the lick test. The Police are trained to detect signs of impairment during a roadside stop. A conviction brings the exact same fines and or jail time, as being impaired by alcohol.

The retail stores pay a large annual license fee to the Province to be allowed to operate, and the taxes collected by both the Federal and the Provincial governments amount to millions of dollars a year. The wholesale growers also pay taxes on their profits. Some of the largest Canadian grower corporations are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and many people have bought shares in those companies. I own some shares in 2 different weed companies.

As in so many things, Canada leads the way in progressive public programs. JIM.

No not legal here but, I doubt it is difficult to get hold of because, people definitely do smoke it. It wasn't something that seemed very popular when I was growing up, unless you were a hippy. I have never smoked it myself and, as far as I am aware, none of my family or friends smoke it. 🤷‍♀️

Not in PA, but some cities do allow it. Possessing or using MJ is still not legal under Federal law. When I was on patrol, I arrested a lot of drivers for DUI from using alcohol and pot. I confiscated a lot of pot.

I never used it, mainly because I wanted to be a state trooper when I was over 21 and discharged from the Marines.
