@hawkdon When your groceries are delivered, give the SPAM to the delivery person in exchange for your groceries. Here's my reasoning: If God had wanted us to keeping eating SPAM, WWII wouldn't have ended. That stuff is vile and not even good for you. So there.

@hollydolly You can't really go anywhere, but if the weather is nice, can you at least sit out in your garden for the sunshine and fresh air?

yes I could and I will do that in a little while....(y)

My morning is out of order because the light in the public hot tub is not working so we can not use it until the sun comes up. The lifeguard explained he has to be able to see us through the window before we can get in it. There are two hot tubs outside and the pool is inside. Normally by now, I am sitting in the hot tub drinking my coffee and then I exercise in the pool or the gym. Today I will have to exercise first and I already drank my coffee while visiting here. :)

Don't u love DST? :)

Good Morning, Everyone 🤗 🌻 :coffee:

Husband is off today and that's always nice.

Right now, I'm just having some coffee (delicious elixir of life) and coalescing.

Suzanne Collin's new Hunger Games book is out today. Woot. :)
 I don't think I could read that book. I saw a bit of Hunger Games on TV and that was very short because I don't deal with brutality well. However, if you are reading the books, I assume there is something good about them. Intrig maybe? Why do you like them?

I enjoy the correlation to the Roman Gladiator games as well as the personal story lines - an underdog hero to root for. :)

A bright 30 degrees out.

Both of us are moving slow.
Hubby has daily driver (car) getting its oil changed, over in our larger garage.

I 'should ' get the shop vac out & clean interior,, when it gets back in the house garage.

Snow plow truck still in this garage & the other work truck is waiting for parts.

And here I sit twiddling my fingers,, when I should be started on SPRING Cleaning. !! :cautious:

sorry to hear about your sister, what would happen if she hadn't had anyone ( children) to care for her at the hospice ?

How far was the drive for you and your DD ?
Well, I don't know. She had the first of her 4 children at age 20 and she (my sister) is 84 years old now. So her kids are all now senior citizens themselves. 357 miles from my house. My daughter made it in 6 hours with just one stop. She doesn't let any grass grow under her tires!

I was up before 5 AM again this morning. Ugh. Even the birds are still slumbering at that hour.

@hollydolly, sorry you're still feeling so poorly. Hope some time in the sun lifts your spirits and improves your health.
@spectratg, my sympathies go out to you on the poor health of your sister. It must have been difficult to see her suffering so.
@-Oy-, Wow, wow, wow on those fabulous photos!!!
@Georgiagranny, thanks for the head's up on our 💰.
My checking account is a little hungry.

I can't believe I gave myself a manicure! Filed them, polished them - clear polish. I haven't done so in YEARS.........I hope this is a sign I will take better care of myself. Nails not professional looking, but they sure look nicer than before I did them.

Yesterday morning, I shocked myself by dusting! Not a lot, but important pieces of furniture. I think @debodun inspired me with her thread on spring cleaning.

I hope this keeps up.

Today, Telehealth meeting with therapist. Then Y&R, then shopping. It is a beautiful day, sunny & will go as high as 60F!

More inventory and projected sales number crunching today. However, price increases are concerning and may dramatically skew next year's sales.

With the threatened and already imposed new tariffs, some costs may rise by a considerable amount. Those increases will have to be passed along to our customers, who must then pass them along to the end users.

I was just notified of a 40% price bump (since my October 2024 purchase) of a mainstay for one of my customers. I'm hunting for another manufacturer, but am having little luck finding this scarce, specialty item.

Ultimate consumers, AKA John Q. Public, will take these price increases in the shorts. As always.

Edited to add: Our customers won't be able to find these elsewhere for less. Companies offering similar services and product lines anywhere near our price points are so rare that I don't know of anyone else doing it.

Well I've had a day of dealing with incompetence...

First the appointment I cancelled with someone due to come to my house today..they came anyway..even tho' I spoke to them directly and told them of the cancellation... reason ? ''I forgot ''.. what ?..you forgot I cancelled just the day before ?...

second... my Internet supplier... I'm thoroughly sick of them now... If you all remember I had the new router, and new Fibre Optic 150 installed in February.. just 4 weeks ago today .. and had all sorts of problems with them during that time... well today checking my bank account.. I saw that they had taken out a whole 3rd more than the agreed monthly DD.... so I had to call them... which is harder than it sounds becase you have to do the dance with the internet Al first before you get anywhere near to talking to a real person...

Then thirdly, I had a letter from the Council claiming my new Council Tax bill for the coming year will be a whole load more than it should be ... again hard to get hold of.. kept on hold on the phone for 25 minutes ..only to be told I need to take proof to their offices.. which are only open for 4 hours, 2 days of the week....

This is all just today...unbelievable . the incompetence...

I had to give up and come inside. The sun just got too warm.

Not a whole lot got done because oh-look-shiny kicked in, as usual. Some weeds were pulled, though. That's something.

Then I got mad at the salvia that always looks so pretty in the garden center, then turns scrawny and un-pretty in the garden. It still blooms, just not the way it should...well, if it's supposed to look like in pictures. I dug it all up and crammed it all together in one spot. If it grows, fine. If it doesn't, that's fine, too. I'm tired of fighting with it. Note to self: don't be suckered in by salvia in the garden center.

Now I'm resting and hatching a plot for tomorrow's adventures.

@hollydolly It's time for you to catch a break. I have a magic wand that glows in the dark. It will be waved around and magic words spoken this evening at bedtime. Can't hurt, rift?

Been a lovely day so far… visited Ed, went to check out a new shop in the next town over, the French Flea. (Yes, really, lol). Despite its unfortunate name, they did have a lot of pretty stuff, but it was just not within my budget or really even my decorating style.

Came home and having lunch out in the garden. What a pleasure to sit in the dappled shade with a cup of tea cradled in my hands… sip, and enjoy this beautiful spring day

later I’ll take a walk maybe visit another homebound friend. Oh, when there’s music on the agenda that always lifts my spirits.

I appreciate those of you who have been praying for me and thinking kind thoughts I certainly can tell the difference today. Bless you.

According to the PSA, a mentor can guide me and support me so that I can become successful. I need a mentor so that I can become an influencer and make lotsa money. I've asked before, but nobody came forth. What's up with that? Nobody wants me to become an influencer? Nobody wants me to make lotsa money?

Please, don't everybody shout at once...

It's so bright & sunny out!

Here I sit in front of the computer???
You all are more interesting than my messy house. 🥰

Even the dog is sleeping,,not sure about hubby .
Last time I looked he was glue to an old western series.

He came in early he legs were hurting.
We did go to Walmart for few things.
He was leaning on the shopping care while there.

Home & lunch of eggs & bacon, toast.
Burnt my toast.:(

My plan to make spaghetti hasn't got started.

Will take the dog for another walk,,hope it gets me to making the spaghetti.
Hope I have room in the fridge for the finished batch of it.

An earlier than usual start at work today. My aching bladder had woke me ahead of the alarm clock, my wife was also awake. She treated me to a warm, loving kiss, a radiant smile and a whispered: "Good morning." It was earlier than I needed but trying to get ten minutes more is futile, so I was up, into the bathroom, done the necessary, showered, shaved and dressed.

Knowing that my lady was awake earned her tea & toast. Coffee and croissants for me and then I am off to work. Driving through The New Forest in late winter/early spring, it's hard to concentrate when you are treated to nature's new life:

Arriving at work the depot manager said, "good morning," then he smiled and said, "you wore it." The office uniform for most men is something dark, sombre and conservative. Those days are behind me, I'm retired, well, semi-retired. My attire drew a lot of attention, phone cameras appeared, photos were texted and emailed across the network. It's been a hectic day.

My wife wants to continue working on her new suit, I told her not to bother cooking, instead I brought home curry king prawns and rice from the local Chinese takeaway. We enjoyed that together whilst I told her all about the reaction to her handiwork that I wore today.
