JFK Assassination Files to be Released, Today

Kilgallen was supposedly found dead due to alcohol and barbiturates. Her friends told the investigators that she never took anything, except aspirins and Advil.

There were others that were also named as being investigating the JFK assassination, however, Kilgallen was the most noted person being a newspaper columnist. I don’t remember the show, but heard my parents speak of it.
Was Advil even around then ? She died in "65"

There was no advil on the market when she died. I always thought she behaved like a drunk on barbituates. Just gave that appearance.

One of theories I've heard over the decades was that the Russians did it and the cover up was to prevent WWIII. Which would help explain Oswald 'the patsy' who seemed set up.

In the current batch of files there documents saying Russian satellite countries like Bulgaria warned the US about Oswald months in advance. Were those warnings part of a set up?

You description/assessment is right on. The actual security guard who discovered the break-in was Frank Willis an unemployed auto worker. The job paid $80 per week

Security Guard Frank Wills Discovered The Watergate Break-In — Then Died Destitute And Forgotten

Not for nothing but he passed kind of young himself, didn't even make it to 50.
Since you know who Frank Willis is you know he was actually denied a promotion , yes he received a $2.50 raise a week but was short lived , he said the system punished him.

“I never received anything for my role in the infamous Watergate Scandal. I have lost faith completely in our current political system.”

From what I have read, when President Truman left office, he had an escort out of town to his first stop outside of D.C. After that he and Bess drove the rest of the way home to Missouri on their own.

Then Vice-President Nixon and a two close friends drove in his convertible to Tijuana on the day of the 1960 election. They ditched the Press.

But when Mrs. Nixon got into the car, Mr. Nixon didn’t join her. Instead, he hopped into a white convertible. Neither his staff nor the press had been informed this would happen. Nixon just wanted to cruise around.

Freshly gassed up, the convertible continued south, and at some point Nixon decided he had a hankering for a bite of Mexican food—in Mexico. The convertible passed through the border checkpoint and then into Tijuana, where it stopped at a restaurant in the tourist district.

While in Tijuana he called the mayor of the city and invited him to the restaurant for lunch.

The mayor of Tijuana, Xicoténcatl Leyva Alemán, was surprised to receive a call from the vice president, who invited The mayor of Tijuana, Xicoténcatl Leyva Alemán, was surprised to receive a call from the vice president, who invited him to lunch: “It was not a date. There was no prearrangement. . . . It was a very great honor. It was not a date. There was no prearrangement.

You can’t make this stuff up.

This video showed up on my YouTube channel. I don't remember the name of the video and I certainly didn't feel the urge to share it since it is hard to watch. I think it was close to an hour long.
I remember that the name he goes by is changed from his original name. He also would only answer questions about what he was doing and not reveal the names of others involved out of fear for his own life. He did say that Oswalt was showing him around Dallas some days prior and also took him to a gun range where he could practice.

Search "kennedy shooter interview" on YouTube. I got 3 results showing the guy each is a different length.
I'm pretty busy these days... Springtime outdoors, taxes, work with my environmental group. But I did watch the first part of one of those Youtube vids of the long interview with James Files. One thing I can't understand, though maybe he does explain it.

He was obviously living the high life doing jobs for his Cosa Nostra buddies, which sounds like it would have included disposable cash. Why would he and his friend David Moreley have needed to steal that car... which got them involved in the shootout with the police, and landed Files a 50-year prison sentence?

The video I watched didn't talk about anything but the Kennedy assassination. However, keeping in mind that the FBI said his story wasn't credible, I wondered if the fact that he was in prison for small time crime made them disbelieve him.

I researched why the FBI doesn't believe this guy and it says that his story contradicts the testimony of other mafia figures given previously.
You just can't trust dishonest people.

I like the Red Dwarf theory of events. Couldn't find the whole episode to post a link, but there are short bits and pieces on Youtube. Frivolous?
You better believe it. Even if I were privy to all the real information, at this point, what difference would any of it make?

He was in prison for major crime. Wikipedia article about Files explains attempted murder of the police officer his bullet hit in the chest, and for shooting at (but missing) the second officer. 30 years for the officer he wounded, 20 years for shooting at the other one.

I was 30 yrs. old that year, and at home helping my mom with the baking for Thanksgiving. We always had the radio on, and just when a bulletin came over that the president had been shot, my dad called from his Office.

My mother's response was priceless. She asked, "which president?" I was dumbfounded, for I thought she had truly lost her mind. It never occurred to her that someone would dare assassinate our president in this day and age. She honestly thought it was another country altogether.

Of course, it took a moment for us all to really comprehend what took place. My dad asked me who I thought masterminded this, and I said it sounded like a CIA black job. What's that? You don't want to know, and I will believe my assessment to the day I die. If I am ever proven wrong, I will eat humble pie.

Who knew what and when, remains to be seen.

Whatever information forthcoming from these files probably are not even germane to today's problems regarding presidential assassinations. Of course, it will be used as a history lesson for those who simply are convinced of whatever tale suits them.

It was a terrible and shocking time, and all I could think of was those 2 little children he left behind.

I was never convinced of a second or 3rd shooter at all. Oswald did it, but with the Ruby connection, someone else masterminded it all. Remains to be seen.
There's zero evidence that Oswald was the assassin. If he'd have lived, he never would have been convicted in a court of law. That's why he was murdered. He was given a paraffin test for gun powder residue, and there was none on him. There were no fingerprints of his on the very poor rifle that was offered as the murder weapon. And he could not possibly have gotten to the lunchroom within seconds of the alleged shooting from the 6th floor book depository. He was telling the truth when he said that he was set up as a patsy.

I'd be shocked if the CIA and others retained any incriminating evidence of a conspiracy. Even so, they've released only a portion of the records that are in existence. We'll have to wait to see.

There was a guy but do not recall if on security detail with Kennedy or was CIA who said it was the CIA who killed him because a CIA group was involved with MAFIA , his last name was Underhill and he later '' committed suicide '' .

At this point we will never know .

Here we go looked him up

''The coroner declared Underhill had killed himself - but conspiracists have long thought otherwise since he had accused the CIA of being responsible for the fatal event.

One of the 80,000 investigative documents published by the National Archives on Tuesday revealed chilling details about Underhill's pre-mortem confessions, as well the suspicious circumstances of his death.

The memo - entitled Ramparts: John Garrett Underhill Jr., Samuel George Cummings, and Interarmco - described Underhill as a WWII intelligence agent who was 'on intimate terms with many of the top brass in the Pentagon.'

Underhill was known during his time as an intelligence agent as a 'recognized authority on limited warfare and small arms,' the memo said.

Given his closeness with the CIA, he was reportedly one of the agencies go-to people to embark on special assignments.
'A small clique within the CIA was responsible for the assassination, he confided, and he was afraid for his life and probably would have to leave the country.'

Underhill was depicted by his peers as 'sober but badly shook,' according to the memo.

'They say he attributed the Kennedy murder to a CIA clique which was carrying on a lucrative racket in gun-running, narcotics and other contraband, and manipulating political intrigue to serve its own ends,' the document continues.

His friends alleged JFK 'got wind that something was going on' but was murdered before he could do anything about it.

Underhill was reportedly a rational and level-headed individual. At first, his friends were not convinced of his accusations against the CIA.

One said, as per the files: 'I think the main reason was...that we couldn't believe that the CIA could contain a corrupt element every bit as ruthless - and more efficient - as the mafia.'

Memo on CIA insider who died after blaming agency for JFK death

I remember when Dorothy Kilgallen from the TV show “What’s My Line” announced she was going to investigate the assassination (I think for a possible book) and was found dead about 2 years later.

It was stated in a book my mom had that she had questioned the facts of the assassination from the start. The book also stated that she was under surveillance from the FBI and the SS, including wiretaps.

Kilgallen was another one who '' committed suicide '' like Monroe drug over dose .

Memo on CIA insider who died after blaming agency for JFK death
I always thought it odd that it was said that the elder Bush couldn't remember exactly where he was on that day.

I was at work that day. Someone had a radio in a back room and came out and said the President had been assassinated. We talked some and concluded that had happened before, and we all went back to work. It was on TV for a long time afterward.

I was in school in 7th grade in Florida, when the news was piped into all of the classrooms. I remember one idiot stood up and clapped, and looked around to see if he made anyone laugh. I guess we all gave him either a shocked or angry look, because he quickly sat back down.

It was a smaller world as far as the underworld goes wether a spy or crook they probably wound up using each other more than they realized. As did many know alot of the players.

Not just for plausible deniability if one wanted certain 'things' done they probably would wind in up in places like New Orleans

They're trying to blow off Underhill but he was Army Intelligence and did or dealt with many of the same things and people the CIA did.

One of things to keep in mind with Underhill was he had intel on arms smuggling which ment he had information on or from the criminal underworld ie smugglers.

Set that aside a minute there was a woman(Rose Cheramie) dumped on a Louisiana road by her criminal boy friend after a fight several days before the assassination. When asked what happened she said they were going to Dallas to pick up her baby, money and kill Kennedy. When a hospital tv showed news/pictures of the area where Kennedy would be traveling through/killed she noted 'that's where they're going to kill him'. She was at the/a pysch hospital for her 'story' and drug detox The staff/nurses believed her and told others and her story was offered to the Dallas police who turned it down. She 'died' in 1965.

Rose Cheramie: How She Predicted the JFK Assassination

Note she also had worked at one of Ruby's clubs and said she saw Oswald and Ruby talking a few months earlier. Along with smuggling drugs for the underworld.

A much smaller world back especially when it came to the spy and crime game. Guys like Underhill or this woman learned and knew who alot of the players were. Unfortunately to their own detriment.
