Notes from Pappy's diary

We spent the morning taking down picture frames and removing photos. I’m putting them all in a 3-binder and I’ve used two binders already. Frames are in the garbage and gone. I never realized how many I had until today.

Got my vacuum clothes bags last night. I’ve never used them before but our friend Eileen says they will hold a lot of things in just one bag.

We have to start on the bedroom and kitchen drawers soon. So much stuff accumulated over the years. I had my church thrift truck stop yesterday, and he took a lot of things. I’ll need him one more time for sure.

Daughter wants to talk to me about new bed were are ordering. See you all later.

Pappy.
Pappy they say Moving house is up there as stressful as death and divorce.... so the best thing is to take this as slowly as you need to.. don't be rushing to suit other people, because you'll get too stressed... now listen to your auntie Holly

Honest to God, I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. 99% of my wife’s closet is in these two bags. Eileen, my neighbor, came over and showed us how to use these vacuum bags. Roll up the clothes and start stuffing, I mean really stuff them in the bag. Use the vacuum bags tool you get to seal them, hook up the hand pump and start pumping. Reduces everything down to about half the size as when we started. My only concern is, how wrinkled will they be after we open them. My closet is next and then we start on blankets and pillows.
To be continued.

Well folks it’s done. For health reason s we are moving back up north to be close to family. We have enjoyed 26 years at our present place and have liked no snow for all these years.
Poughkeepsie, NY will never be the same when we get there. 😊
Some photos of our new place enclosed.
The move will be on April 7-8. My family is coming down to help us load up a U-Haul truck and take anything they might want. We have to downsize big time..😵‍💫

Papppy I use them all the time when I'm flying... the clothes shouldn't be wrinkled when they come out....

They make a huge difference in packing...you can even pack bedding..pillows, cushions anything that can shrink

Was going through a large box and found a giant bag of towels and washcloths that had been forgotten for years. Also, couple of blankets and bed sheets. Going to make some animals at the SPCA very happy next week.
Other than that, we are still packing and deciding what to keep and throw out. The photographer will be coming April 3 to take pics of the house so it must look good and tidy.
Happy Sunday
Pappy

Really got to get going on the decluttering of the house. The photographer is coming on the third to take pics inside and out. Outside looks nice as I just had the house steamed cleaned.
Inside, that’s another story. 26 years of buying things in this house and no place to use it at new place. Donated a ton of stuff to my church thrift store, my neighbors have taken some things and I still have so much to get rid of. We are leaving a lot of furniture for the next owner to due as they wish with it.

On a lighter note, I have a large amount of items to take over to SPCA. Towels, blankets and sheets. We are getting a queen size bed compared to our split king size we have now. Coffee and donuts to follow I’m sure..☕🍩

Don’t wear yourselves out, leave plenty for the kids to do when they bring the truck, it will make them feel needed and appreciated.

Take a little time to enjoy a trip or two to the ocean and a few other special spots, that’s more important than dealing with the stuff.

There will plenty to do Aunt Bea for them to do. I can’t do much lifting anymore so the furniture we are taking will be handled by them, plus heavy boxes.
