What are you cooking or baking today?

Last night I said that we are running low on spaghetti. A text just came "problem solved". Ten pounds of De Cecco at the door. Watch what you wish for:)

I have nice fresh mushrooms. Those, home smoked ham, spinach, pesto, garlic and spaghetti. Someone should be happy.
Is this freshly cooked food delivered to your door ?

I made barbeque pulled pork in the crock pot. Side dish sautéed brussel sprouts with sweet onion. And then cheated and bought Bob Evans
mashed potatoes. Am eating pulled pork sandwiches on Martin's potato rolls...yummy.

First time I ever cooked anything in the crock pot. I rather liked that my prep time was 8 hours because in that time I prepped the brussel sprout recipe which is some work to cut up the sprouts and onion. So if I wanted to put anything off, I was still working within my 8 hour window of time.

Ah, the window of time...ever open...what a crock.

I have frozen organic veggies and organic chicken breasts. I take out a portion and boil them, add seasoning and organic olive oil. I eat the same type of food everyday. Sometimes I replace chicken breast with salmon filet.
For carbs, I eat toasted bread or microwaved potatoes.
That's all.

Made a dozen pizza doughs yesterday - they're in the garage fridge doing a slow rise. Tomato sauce today.

Making pizza tomorrow (as per DGS's request) to belatedly celebrate his February birthday. DD is making a cake. DD's family was passing around various viruses during the time of his actual b-day so we delayed celebrating until tomorrow.

DH & I have never been the type to stand on ceremony. We choose dates to celebrate many occasions based on when it will work for everyone. Better to delay than exclude some and host others when they're feeling lousy or spreading their germs. Fortunately, our kids picked up our practical attitude and their children are learning that same flexibility.

I had my daughter here for a couple of days. It was her 30 th birthday and she asked me to bake a Basque Cheesecake.
She wanted take out Thai food for dinner, so I got off easy this year😁
Basque cheese cake....never heard of nor seen. Just found a pic.....looks to die for !

I made spaghetti-type noodles in a cooking class in Florence, Italy. TBH I didn't find fresh, homemade pasta appreciably superior to dried - certainly not enough to justify the time, mess and hassle involved.
Thanks for telling me that. I don’t mind dry noodles. They taste pretty good. We make homemade sauce made from fresh garden grown vegetables. Then we have fresh Parmesan cheese and it tastes pretty good.
