Have you ever been on a quest?

A quest is a Spiritual, physical or mental journey for growth and understanding. I used to be on a quest for enlightenment, at which point I was to a degree. When I turned 70 my desire for intellectual awareness increased as it did for me in my twenties 50 years ago. Then as now I am interested in legitimate time travel to recapture my youth.

Do you really want to recapture it?

When I was in college, my then BF and went on a quest for the best carrot cake. We went out to eat a lot and we continued until we found what we decided was the best. There was nothing spiritual about it, It was just fun. :) :)

That's funny. You reminded me that my sister and I (mostly) were on a quest looking for the best Mexican food in town. I think we're still looking... 🤷‍♀️

While stationed at a small RAF base in Essex, England I learned of its role during WWII.
Bombers from both the USAAF and RAF flew missions, along with British Spitfires.

After talking to some locals in the Village, they mentioned some abandoned bases from this period.

Armed with some maps, I'd spend a lot of my free time exploring for these sites.
(had the free time while waiting for my wife and newborn son to join me)

To zero in on the exact locations, I'd stop at the local pub and inquire about the base I was looking for.
Met some great people and most enjoyed talking about the area.
The ones I found where mainly just small sections of runway and few building left.

Standing alone by an abandoned Control tower, a lot of thoughts would go through my mind.
Worth the time I spent exploring.
