My day took a turn for the worse about five hours ago. I'm a volunteer at the Speedway and we had problems with the starting system. It's operated by powerful rubber which lifts the tapes up and lets me riders go. Somehow my fingers got in the way and got mega-whacked. The paramedics told I'd need stitches and sent me off to the urgent care clinic. The doctor there got an X-ray which shows a cracked bone, she also said that that I'd need plastic surgery. So here I am at 1.00 AM in the hospital emergency department three hours in and probably another hour before treatment...
Oh Rakaia!

Ouch ! Ouch ! :eek::eek:

I'm telling you this amitriptyline is some drug. I saw on reddit that people use it to get high at high doses. The 10mg pill is the size of a bird seed. So there is no cutting it.

Drowsy...after one pill at 10 for bedtime all the way till 9am, I felt sleepy. It helps with pain, but I can't use it if I am so drowsy all the time.

Another dilemma to add to the list. :)
.
I've been on amitriptyline a few times.. never had that affect on me ...and it never helped with my pain either

Don’t give up yet, @Paco Dennis ! Meds like that, it often takes a while for the body to adjust; the side effect of sleepiness will probably decrease. It will be worth it if it decreases your pain!

So what happened was...DD needed to go to Home Depot to get some kind of weird paint for DSIL to use on some equipment at work. She made me go, too. I was just standing in the aisle, minding my own business, when sunpatiens and snapdragons jumped into the cart.

See, @Trish? That's how it's done. No decision needed. Just let the plants choose you.

They'll get planted tomorrow. It's too hot this afternoon.

yes but the booker obviously had available time slots in front of her which I could see she was looking at...

Sense would tell you jusst to say ok 12 noon... and let them come and wait for a few minutes , but I suppose with such a large group they would have be prepared with tables pushed together,. and the 7 ..yep 7 High chairs the woman requested

I remember thinking don't come here in May...:D
I would have put them down for 12:20 and never said another word. But if they asked for 7 high chairs I might have said "oh I was looking at the wrong day, sorry we're sold out on the day you were wanting."

Last night eating out early couple comes in w 3 under 4 yo and proceeded to treat it as their living room. Kids were all over, screaming, and crying. Why and how can they expect to be tolerated?

Then the next couple comes in w 3 kids including a baby and they were perfect.

I am going to try that! Snapdragons just jumping into the trolly sounds great :ROFLMAO:

neighbours are having a BBQ next door.. Eastern Europeans.... and as they have been for a while now, whenever they have a BBQ they bring around a platter of food for me.. so kind !

However they eat very late.. and they brought this around 1/2 hour ago at 10pm.. well I had my dinner hours ago... so altho' it's very appreciated, I can't eat it tonight.. so I've tasted a bit of steak.. and a cheese dough ball yum.. and put the rest in the fridge for tomorrow

On the plate is Chicken, Steak, Pork chop, Polish sausage , cheese dough balls.. and a Large mushroom... and the sides are all pickled..onions, peppers, and thinly sliced cucumbers in a Yoghurt and mint dressing. The platter is actually huge...

I am very happy with my foot today. I've been resting it and so so worried it wouldn't be able to handle a lot of walking (which it needs to be able to do when I go to Italy later this month), but today I went to a protest and walked a LOT and my foot did okay (not great, but I'm years past expecting that).

People said it would be impossible to get through all the way to the Washington Monument, so I decided that was a good challenge, and after a lot of patient slow progress, I actually got to it, though then I had a heck of a time finding my way back out through the crowd because I'm not up to climbing over little fences so I had to circle around and around until I found the opening.

I wore out after a couple hours but so many people were still arriving the metro station had all three escalators set going up out of the station, and told us that to leave we'd have to walk a block away! You'd think it was a concert or something.

Brisk 2 1/2 hour out and back ride on the MC, past Craters of the Moon, to Arco. Original plan was Atomic City, but the extra 30 miles each in the cold (high 30's °F) and wind (steady 20 mph, gusting to 30) was out of the question. I had to go inside the visitor center at COM to warm up both times I went by. Kind of surprised it's open since it's a National Park Service venue.

It is a dilemma you can solve. Please schedule an appointment or at least a Tele health call with the physician who prescribed it.

How to safe $1,500? By replacing a water heater myself with the help of my son-in-law who did all the heavy work.

In 2009, I replaced a water heater with the help of a friend. After 17 years, it was on the way out. I had 2 offers to do the whole
job for around $3K; while just replacing the water heater itself, without including the purchase of a new one, was supposed to
be around $1,500.

My son-in-law and I did the whole job in 5 hours: buying a top-of-the-line water heater for $880 with a 12-year warranty at
Home Depot, bringing it home, draining the old water heater and loading it on our dump trailer, and installing the new one.

Moving the new water heater into the right position, and checking the connected gas line with soap water for a possible leak.
On the left pix, behind the closed door on the right side, is our heater and air-condition unit for the house.

At this very moment, my older daughter is flying over the Bering Sea on her almost 14 hour flight back to Hong Kong and her
job in mainland China UA801 (UAL801) United Flight Tracking and History - FlightAware

Thnx for the concern. The Doc has us scheduled to review how this new drug worked out for me. I didn't take a nap today, so I didn't take but 1. I will take 1 before bed and see how it goes tonight. We need to give the drug a chance. :)
