Post pictures here of any windmills you come across in your travels.
Australia, being a drought prone country has many thousands of iconic Southern Cross Windmills across this wide brown land.
Since 1903, over 250,000 Southern Cross Windmills have been manufactured.
At the Gilgandra Museum in New South Wales a windmill is still operating 100 years after it was made.
Most windmills will have a water storage tank alongside.

There are still some old-timey windmills out in the country, but the majority of our windmills now are the gigantic modern ones you see stretching along the crests of hills, catching the breezes and generating electricity.

I remember my great-grandfather had one on his farm and when it turned, it made a screechy sound. All that one did was pump water from a well into a trough for the cows.

If there were dotted along the coastline then they would be power generating turbines.
We have them here in Australia as well.
Yes, this is what we have here. There located in an area called Altamont Pass.. A low level mountain area to boost energy. We used to see them on a way up to San Francisco, Ca.

Warwickshire's Chesterton Windmill, is an iconic monument, in the Warwickshire landscape and part of the UK's history. The restoration of the windmill’s sails means a lot to those who visit, and photograph it, and all are delighted to see the sails stand proudly on the windmill once more.
