Gunman kills 2, wounds 6 others during a shooting at Florida State University

This is the second school shooting in as many days. There was also a shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins high school in Dallas on Tuesday. Last April, another shooting had taken place at that school. The story continues below the photos under Related Coverage.

When I first read about the FSU shooting on my news app, I didn't see that two people had died! These shootings are so terrible. No parent should have to worry that their child(ren) face danger while in school ! Faculty and staff shouldn't either. The article doesn't make clear if those wounded and dead are all students. May they R.I.P.

So this was done by the son of a local sheriff's deputy that got ahold of his father's gun. Plus he had a rifle. This boy had participated in several training programs, including a youth advisory council. So what went wrong?!
 
I believe the 2nd amendment should be repealed and all guns BANNED other than for law enforcement and the military. Too many folks commit suicide or murder someone else using a GUN! Many times, when I was seriously ill, I definitely would have shot myself if I had a gun. This way I endured all the illnesses and am still alive at age 90!

Well this shooter used a law enforcement gun....his father's. I'm glad you didn't get your hands on a gun Mitch, but if you really wanted to off yourself, you probably could have gone out and gotten one.
 
Heard the pos cowardly killer had the gaul to ask for a lawyer as the cuffs were being put on him. Doesn't even have the guts to take himself out or go down in a hail of bullets.

And when the school shooter is stopped by an armed teacher. Oh, and when the strong-armed robber was stopped by an old vet in a full coffee shop. And..... the time that abused wife, brought an end to her 10 yr old daughter's rape by the BF as well as the beatings she suffered at his hand. We could leave them unarmed and unable to protect themselves. I suppose. Feed to gun-grabbers what they want.

Also, we should probably take the hunting rifles from those in rural areas who still hunt for their food to feed their families. Let 'em starve!
 
Well, the good guys with guns saving the day plan isn't working too well.


Nobody is suggesting licensed hunters of food can't have any guns.
 
Here comes the psych defense.

Biological mom who wound up kidnapping the accused killer in a custody dispute was worried for his status/health. Apparently had some diagnosises and was supposed to be on medication. Some including internet are saying ADHD meds others mention he might have been on anti depressants. She didn't think much of step parent.

The accused killer also completed an associate degree and transfered into FSU so he seems 'functional'. At least 2 of his shooting victims were older adults not students. Wonder if he felt wronged by them. Also puzzled by him asking for a lawyer right away because most wack jobs don't give a poop.
