Saturday but feels like Sunday. It's not very warm this morning, 58, and only supposed to be about 70 with more rain. I gotta think of something to keep myself busy today.
It's 9:30 a.m. and the real feel here is already 80 °. I'm running the AC. My BFF lives in south Florida and she took notice that yesterday it was hotter up here than it was down there.

a few more pics from the garden centre yesterday.... they also have a miniature railway there too which was closed yesterday but will be open again this holiday weekend ...
There's a very similar looking miniature railway near here (Griffith Park's Travel Town). My kids loved it when they were little sprites, likewise my grands. It's also a great excuse for those of us who are past that age to enjoy the trip that goes twice around the perimeter of the park. At $3 for a ten minute ride, it's reasonably priced and Travel Town itself has free entry.

A few years ago, my neighbours hydrangea bush overhung my garden. I lopped off a branch that smacked me in the face. I cut the branch into six pieces and shoved each one into plantpots, and, they all grew into healthy little bushes.
The neighbours hydragea died over the winter and he told me how upset he was, because it was his late wife's favourite bush, then his face lit up when I gave him two of the 'babies' of his bush.

I'm feeling quite chuffed. 😊

it's £1.50 per ride, and free for under 2's.... .... the train passes over a bridge and through a tunnel on it's way around, which delights the kids...

...after costs are taken out of the entry fee to maintain the stock of various trains and by charging a nominal fare ... the rest of the money is donated to charitable organisations . All employeees are voluntary

a walk outside for a few mins, want to check out the area left
over by that tree falling two wks ago, looks like I'll have to hire
someone to clean it up so it will look better to all the critical
]folks we have aroun...think I will find a reason to celebrate with
chinese tonite yesssssss....catch ulater........ ;)

At the zoo. Brought my own monkeys. I may leave them here.

I already lost the 5 year old once today. I was in a panic. She thought it was a lark..."Well, I knew you wouldn't go home without me!" If it had been the 9 year old, I would have heard her crying from the parking lot.

They're so different. 9 year old=Drama Llama. 5 year old-ho hum, what's next.

Made sure to get out in the sun today. Feeling better since Wednesday, am surprised it took so long or that I needed time at all. Hope I never do a colonoscopy ever again. I'm too old, can't take it. Too much for me. I have my limits.
I hear you and in my 70s never had one as simply avoided it as you know bow you can do it painless at home and send in sample .

I was given the kit by the doctor and even then have not bothered so no one to preach but either way maybe something like that might work for you .

I have a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy (sp?) coming up next month. Thank goodness they can do them together ( shake hands in the middle?) so I only have to be put out once.

Pretty much all my friends have had them done and all say no big deal but sadly last 4 years give or take I developed a huge fear of all that and low tolerance to pain I did a 180 from years ago .

What might make you go OUCH might drop me / pass out , sad indeed .

The 6th of this month I go in for blood test and think about it every day as now a needle goes in my arm to take my blood . I will go to the Doctor simply look the other way and hope for the best but certainly dread it .

I consider myself pretty tough. I bounce back quickly....at least up until now.

they don't actually put you out...I've had both ...3 times.. ..horrible.. the first twice with sedation... yu don't actually go to sleep you just are very drowsy... and it's over......the last time I had it without sedation.... you never want that, believe me...

try not to get yourself upset over a blood test, if you're queasy about seeing blood, just look the other way as you said... but giving blood is no worse, and probably less painful than knowcking yourself on the corner of a table.. and the pain is over quicker

I don't mind giving blood.. in fact I had to give blood just last week...

How come you were not sedated the last time ?

I'm 50 hours into my surgery recovery now. At 1:20am woke up with a foul gastroenteritis virus (probably norovirus) I likely got from my hospital visit as that is common. My empty of much food GI system was quite unpleasantly sore until noon today and now my immune system is quickly knocking it out. Bandaged groin incision is about 5 inches so try not to move about.

To complicate all that in an untimely manner, my 2014 Dell XPS-15 laptop hard drive is failing preventing MS Windows 10 booting so won't be doing computer work or posting much here for awhile. Running a long chkdsk /f command overnight.

Posting this with my old moto g6 phone. Using a cheap Windows 11 PC laptop too. All part of ups and downs of life. If I can't get the laptop running, won't lose important personal files as is mostly backed up but will be a tedious pain re- loading graphic apps.

In any case, great to get this hernia surgery done. Kaiser Permanente surgery room was an incredible high tech equipment sight. Two doctors and 6 nurses were awesome. Read the doctor's long technical report of my operation that is mind boggling medical science. So lucky to be alive in this era.

How long before you can get back to normal ?
