How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

My 'new' dog was whimpering at my bedroom door to be fed and then let out for a pee - I dutifully replied. Then he requires feeding of course biscuits and assorted meats? well he does eat it all?

then he wants to get out of the flat on an extended lead - he has a history of absconding? Fresh coffee for me but nothing to eat usually - don't like to over-load will do that later. switch on/off fans; aircons and lights in various arrays? then back to the laptop and chatting on various sites - started some housework later - but hate that a lot!!

This is from yesterday; I fell asleep while composing this!
Around 1:00 a.m. I was up dry and wet Swiffering the floors and scooping the litter box. I wanted to get those things done before my son took out the garbage at 4 a.m.. Later in the day I did some more shredding and used the ID protections roller again on several pill bottles. It's ridiculous how long I let this stuff accumulate!!

Today I'll do some light chores and perhaps more shredding. I'm looking forward to going to the movies with my son to see Sinners this afternoon. People I know and those I don't (on social media) have been raving about the movie and its impact.

How long before you can get back to normal ?
From my experience, take it easy for a couple of weeks. No driving till you can comfortably wear a seat belt and no heavy lifting for 4 weeks, so you should be back to normal within a month.
I was given self adhesive waterproof covers for my incision, so I could shower OK.

As for the various 'oscopies', in the UK these are generally performed with self administered sedation with 'Gas and air'.

Just another day here in Scotland. It's one of the busiest shopping days, so we avoid the stores if possible. The weather is very changeable but I hope to get some gardening done, hence I'm wearing my scruffy gardening clothes. Things are growing well and all three varieties of potato that we planted have started to show. I hope to get another picking or two of kale and chard before I have to clear the plants to make room for broad beans.

Roast pork with kale and parsnips this evening.

Sometime last night our house flooded. Luckily we found out where the flood came from; my upstairs bathroom. The hose running into the toilet broke. It’s not a huge flood. My bathroom floor was partially flooded and the downstairs basement was partially flooded including my husbands washroom. We have just finished cleaning that up now. My husband’s going to go into town to get the part he needs. I’ll stay home and look after the dogs. Hopefully this shall be resolved in a matter of hours. The water damage doesnt look too intensive.

Good Morning all folks!!! Sun is shining but only 40deg F outside, so bit chilly, no rain today we need a dry out period...
Got up raring to go, but it went away, cannot walk well due
to artheur visiting both feet damnit....Breathing problems also...
But what the heck, it will pass or not....didn't get the chinese food last eve, ate a tasteless tv dinner instead blecchh....
May try to get some laundry done today, or at least started...
Have a great day y'all !!!!;):love::coffee::cool:

I'll be off to church shortly...I have ushering duty this month; and today is communion Sunday....I bake the gluten free bread we use and the batch I made yesterday is ready to go.
The Saturday market starts in 13 days and I mean to have a selection of my wooden toys on offer along with breads and cookies this season. So after church it's off to my wood-shop to continue bringing 50 helicopters a few steps further to completion.
The bees in my two hives are busily flying around and they've found something flowering because they're coming back with two colors of pollen.......probably dandelion for one and maybe apple tree flowers too.

Doing two loads of many, many more of laundry. It's been weeks since I've done any laundry except handwash some underwear. I'm so behind in my life, so much I need to do to catch up. Sigh
Pepper, I know what that's like. When I suffered with the heart condition (for decades) sometimes it did me so bad that I couldn't do anything. I'm very particular about how my laundry gets done, so didn't ask for help with that. I hope you are able to catch up without putting undue stress and strain on yourself. 🤗

I think old people often die of boredom🥱. Wish I had a job:(.

After yesterday's and last night's rain, it's sunny this morning but not going to be very warm. Maybe 70.
Yes I wish I had a job as well... I could volunteer somewhere but there's limited choice around here..much of it involves heavy lifting which I can't do...

Anyway the weather has improved since this morning, and it's very sunny now, much warmer than the 52 deg they predicted...but still very breezy..

I've just finished cutting back the Ivy... I have to use the electric hedge trimmers on the Ivy because it covers all over the brick shed.. and on another area further up the garden.. and the battery ran out on the smaller trimmer.. so I had to get the very long one out which I usually use for lopping tree branches.. the downside of that is it makes my arm and shoulder muscles ache... because it's so heavy..

I could have asked the gardener to do it, but he would have just cut it so there was none left, and I just like to give it a short back and sides...:D

However it's all done.. and I've swept up......just got a freezing cold coke now, I'm so thirsty 🥤

I'm 50 hours into my surgery recovery now. At 1:20am woke up with a foul gastroenteritis virus (probably norovirus) I likely got from my hospital visit as that is common. My empty of much food GI system was quite unpleasantly sore until noon today and now my immune system is quickly knocking it out. Bandaged groin incision is about 5 inches so try not to move about.

To complicate all that in an untimely manner, my 2014 Dell XPS-15 laptop hard drive is failing preventing MS Windows 10 booting so won't be doing computer work or posting much here for awhile. Running a long chkdsk /f command overnight.

Posting this with my old moto g6 phone. Using a cheap Windows 11 PC laptop too. All part of ups and downs of life. If I can't get the laptop running, won't lose important personal files as is mostly backed up but will be a tedious pain re- loading graphic apps.

In any case, great to get this hernia surgery done. Kaiser Permanente surgery room was an incredible high tech equipment sight. Two doctors and 6 nurses were awesome. Read the doctor's long technical report of my operation that is mind boggling medical science. So lucky to be alive in this era.
Good to hear from you and that you are in good spirits.

Oh no! But you have a live in handy man!

I have a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy (sp?) coming up next month. Thank goodness they can do them together ( shake hands in the middle?) so I only have to be put out once.
Over the last 15 years or so I've had more upper endoscopies (6) than colonoscopies (lower endoscopies) (3). In two cases, they were done at the same time. Three of the uppers involved radio frequency ablations (microwaves) for a pre-cancerous throat condition (dysphagia). Those were all successful and I will never need to have another upper endoscopy. As far as the other end is concerned, my doctor this year had me do the "poop in a container" procedure since all of my previous colonoscopies were negative; this procedure was also negative!

Yes indeed. It didnt take him long to discover the water source and this morning we went out to get one of these. It’s a braided toilet connector with a built in flood protector.
He’s installing it at this moment. Yayyyy. My bathroom is toasty warm. We turned up the heat to dry everything out plus started a fire downstairs. This part cost less than $25.00. They should be changed every 10 years or so.

If you leave your house for more than a couple of days, you might want to turn the water off in your toilets.

Cooler today…nice. I shall probably pretend I am a housekeeper today and spiff up the digs. Going on a staycation downtown tomorrow for a James Taylor concert…so have to find something suitable to wear in my stuff…
oooh... stop where you are... don't take another step until you take me with you to see James..🙏.my favourite singer of all time... and I've met him and worked with him many years ago... he's such a lovely man...

I've just been vaccing all downstairs, and cleaning in the kitchen...

I've brought the vac upstairs to do up here soon...

Today I've got Picanha steak for dinner.. first time I'm going to be trying this steak... apparently it's similar to the UK Rump.. or the American Sirloin... ..anyway I bought it because I really like rump steak but in recent years all the meat sellers have been cutting all the fat off before putting it out for sale, well excuse me , it's the fat that gives Rump it's taste.... so when I saw this Brazillian Picanha steak with a good amount of fat ( Cap)... like rump used to have, I bought it to try !

The 6th of this month I go in for blood test and think about it every day as now a needle goes in my arm to take my blood . I will go to the Doctor simply look the other way and hope for the best but certainly dread it .
Last time I went, I asked the phlebotomist to use the tiny, butterfly needle that is often used for infants and people with fragile veins. She didn't blink, just nodded and got one out. Took literally a few seconds longer to fill both vials, but the pain of the draw was so much less.

I don't object to blood draws, but the previous time was quite painful and my arm hurt for a full day.

Before they lay everything out, you might want to ask them to use that smaller needle.
