Watermelon - so pricey, that I haven’t bought a whole one in years and only in the peak season.
3 bananas were 75 cents.

Pretty weather here. Going to daughter's this evening to spend the night. My oldest granddaughter is showing a chicken she's raising at a 4-H show. It is along with a festival in Bath NC. They had a lot of piracy out of Bath and that's the theme of the festival.
will spend Mother's Day, at my suggestion , with my SIL's mother. She has been diagnosed with colon cancer 😔 and has started chemo and radiation.
My son will come on Mother's Day. Not sure what we're doing, maybe breakfast or he may go to the festival and we'll make Saturday Mother's Day. Haven't heard from oldest daughter.

BathFest

I'm here.....sort of.

I still don't feel good, and I'm still napping a lot. The eye pain makes it hard to read everyone's posts, or to even think straight. I hope everyone is doing well.
Did I miss something. Did you have eye surgery? Wishing you a quick recovery.

Oh Imogene...much as it's lovely to have acreage, I don't envy the work that's needed for the upkeep. It take me about 45 minutes to mow my lawns, that way enough for me... (y)

Yes it sure it a lot of work but I truly don’t mind as long as the equipment is running. My farm tractor still needs some work - work that, from a knowledge standpoint I could finish, physically not so much. My neighbor with the John Deere 3130 & bat wings said he would cut the main pastures for me. What takes me 15-16 hours with my 6’ bushhog, he can knock out in 5-6 hours. BUT I’m at least on his waiting list.

Yesterday (Thursday) was manni-peddi day for the horses. The Arab is always great because his mom comes and holds him. Duncan’s behavior depends on which side of the sawdust his diva self woke up on and his old injuries. I gave him a pain pill, so he also ended up with ten gold stars😇❤️😇❤️

Been for the yearly Mammogram (Joy Joy Joy) and bone density scan. Thank goodness that’s out-of-the-way for another year.

I heard in Europe they do an ultrasound first and if there’s nothing suspicious on that you don’t have to have a mammogram— true? It would be nice if they did that here

Headed to lunch shortly at a local Mexican restaurant in honor of a nurse ; it’s her last day today with our organization.

Certainy not true in the UK can't speak for any other European countries

Went over to our local hospital to have my cat bite wounds cleaned and the dressings and internal packings changed. The trauma nurse explained that while this treatment slows the healing process, it ensures my hand heals from the inside out and prevents bacteria from getting trapped inside. After leaving the hospital we headed over to the Taphong market and bought some barbecued chicken before driving home. Anyway, after a shower I spent the rest of the day in bed watching FBI Files on my ipad. I miss my one kilometer a day swims.

No surgery.....
I suffered sinus damage, many years ago. Also, I am vision impaired. Any little infection (or pollen, etc), and it always winds up settling in my sinuses. Depending on how bad it is, it also affects my eyes. It's kind of like being "light sensitive" when having a headache....it just hurts! Closing my eyes and being in a dark room, helps. Too much reading, and they get teary and blurry.

It's happened many times before, and will continue to happen....this too shall pass. It's just a part of my life. Thank you for your concern. 😘

What kind of equipment is your facility using? I was in and out in under ten minutes for both.

Germany: until recently age 50-69, now three additional mammograms between 70-75. Mumsy is a cancer survivor, her six siblings either passed of cancer or at the end with it, mother and mother's six siblings passed with cancer. Mammo was denied at 69 due to age.

Post surgery 8-day video appointment this morning with surgeon doctor went well using my smartphone that lasted less than 9 minutes. He was glad I seem to be healing well. I could have asked and reported much more but didn't want to waste his busy time that I can simply send later as a message attached text report.

Before the session I went online and brought up a long KP report under my account and some anatomy images. I pasted a lot of the special medical terms from the below section into a YaHoo! Search window that efficiently using their AI has allowed me to generally understand the below section. Even understand why I lost so little blood (5ml) after the incisions. He used "cautery" with an electric tool cauterizing cut edges immediately.

Details, I'll share herein for other's amusement as it is all so fascinating and generally like Greek to any non-med types like this person and most of us. But with the web and AI... Amazing to live in an age we can do so.

What an absolutely glorious sunny day it is. with just enough of a breeze to keep it from being too hot... 🌞 🌞 🌞 🌞

I went out and picked up a prescription , and bought the fruit.... ..

How much do you pay for fruit... for example I bought these today...

6 small apples cost 0.69p in Tesco... a Punnet of seedless cotton candy grapes ( 1/2 kilo= about a pound) £2.70...
a Whole Watermelon £4.00....
6 Bananas =75p.... and a a bag of satsumas ( 10) ...£2.00

How does that compare with prices outside of the UK /
Apples 3 pounds depending on what kind from US$1.85-4.50. SO is particular.
Cotton Candy around 1 US$/pound
Tangarines 3 pounds US$2.99
Blood oranges 3 pounds US$3.59

Water melon can be anything from an individual size to a 12 pounder:>) I buy them only when they are in season and I can find yellow ones.
No bananas in our house!

Just the standard, turn-a-cup-into -a-saucer equipment. It’s not the length of time (for me) it’s the discomfort @Twostep

How AWFUL for you. I often have a feeling of stuffiness up in the back of my nose and the feeling of not breathing in enough air. These keep me awake at night, plus a bit anxious. I've been avoiding histamine containing foods as best I can because histamine seems to be the cause.

This morning at 7:15, I walked my neighbor, Cathie's dog' Rudy' around the building. It was 40 no wind, the sun was out. I do enjoy walking him,he's a sweet/ lovable dog. The next time I'll be doing this is Memorial Day weekend
My friend, Mary is picking me up at 9:30 we going on our weekly 'road trip' to local grocery store, Wegmans, need couple of items. She'll be getting her usual reading material, NYT,last Sun's Buffalo News, couple magazines
The rest of my day take advantage of this beautiful but cool day, take 1or 2 walks. I'll be having dinner again tonight at 5:30 with friend, Connie ,2 other residents
an update, this afternoon I did take another walk, strolled 3 blocks to local independent bookstore,' Talking Leaves'{am a member get 10% off each book} bought 2 books. It was a lovely, sunny day still cool temps in mid 50's

Do you ever get a day where you just eat ?

Today I just seemed to eat all day. I didn't actually have anything to eat at all until about 1.30pm... and I had half a cream cake...

Then after I had a bowl of fresh fruit, apple, orange, and grapes.. then I had a cheeseburger for dinner.... then about 4 hours later I had some tagliatelli... and a dark chocolate mint about an hour after that

I think I'm gonna suffer for this in the morning..lol
