I started this last night but fell asleep at the computer! I must've been out for about an hour and when I woke up, it was 12:30. so I shut it down. So yesterday...
I had another doctor appointment in the same office as on Friday. The transportation experience was totally different than on Friday. I took an Uber there, no wait and save, and the fare was $4 less than the wait and save price. BTW, Uber charged $46.35 for Friday's ride when the fare was quoted as $15.15. I had to dispute the charge in the app and they took care of the refund right away.
I went to the same office, which is split into two sides for the different doctors. I'm glad I asked where suite 224 was when I was there at 223 Friday, otherwise I would have been going crazy looking for it. My oldest grandson works in the building, so he popped in to see me like he did on Friday.
My appointment with the new endocrinologist was at 1:00 I was finished before 2. She's a cute little thing, looking like she couldn't have possibly graduated from med school yet. She isn't as personable as my PCP, podiatrist and glaucoma specialist, but I like her. She asked the right questions and gave me answers to mine before I even asked.
She worked with me on finding a medication I'd be willing to take that will still get the job done. I refused Ozempic because I hate needles. So she prescribed Rybelsus 3 mg, which she said will help me lose weight, help with my cravings and is good for heart and kidney functions. Possible side affect: nausea, which I hate. She said everyone doesn't experience it and for those who do, it disappears in a couple of weeks.
I'm glad I brought my blood sugar/food log with me because it helped me give her the readings she needed. Also I like that she didn't weight shame me and gave positive feedback on what I am doing right. My BP was 134/72 even though I forgot to take my BP meds that morning. I took a Lyft home and had a nice conversation with the driver who is also Muslim. When I mentioned one of the big mosques my husband attended regularly, he said he's gone there too. He thought he knew my husband, who was good friends with the Imam and went there often, but it wasn't my husband he described.
It's a b*tch trying to get a ride from that medical building because there are a couple of different entrances, so I walked over to the bank, with an easily detectable address. I used the ATM machine, something I very rarely do, but I want to make sure my debit card stays activated. I was hungry when I got home and glad there were leftovers. It was a nice day.
