Polygamy Should Be Legalized For Everyone Over Age 80!

I've been following a bit on the "advancements" folks have been making in robotics.... I've always found it a bit intriguing as well as downright scary!
Among some of the other issues is a concept that was highlight in an old sci-fi/dystopian future movie called Cherry 2000... (1987), an awesome flick that had some actors/actresses that went on to become quite popular. It's a stupid movie (and concept) that centers around a sexual theme where robots are made for "entertainment" interests as well as industry/commercial uses. But then destruction hits the planet in some form or fashion that's not dwelled on, but it's left the folks with a serious shortage of whatever's needed to fix things... and that's where the movie begins.

A man's comfort robot shorts out, but the disconsolate fella' finds out that he can probably find the part that he needs to fix Cherry... and adventure ensues.

The thing is, in the here and now (RL) they have figured out how to make a humanoid robot and with advancements in silicon and such polymers, or whatever, to make realistic skin... somewhat. And guess what some folks are working on developing for mass market? They still have a lot to do, but things are steaming ahead! It might be here to help ol' @Mitch86 out, but mebbe soon! The best part of all this, imho, is that I'll probably be dead before the kids in the family end up marrying one!! 😅

If the Bible sanctions polygamy, why not US laws?!?

Finally, we DO have polygamy practiced by US citizens living in Mexico. They are part of the religious sect called Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints. They have a prophet. The only way they can marry is with the prophet choosing their four wives. Evidently Mexico does not prosecute them. They are a spinoff of the Mormons.

Of course, at my age of 90, I cannot even have sexual relations with my one wife. My sex drive died out 50 years ago.

Not as a matter of course. My mom died years before my dad and my neighbor's wife came back from a walk and collapsed by the entry door and died. I wouldn't want multiple husbands. One ordinary nice good one will do. And l'll take out the trash.

The Bible does not and never did sanctify it. Men being man just did it anyway. :/

The uber rich took many wives as a status symbol but there is another reason why polygamy was beneficial to women. In the days when women owned no property and could not inherit anything, when their husbands died, they could become destitute unless some relative or an unrelated man took them into his household. Look up the story of Ruth and Naomi to see how desperate the life of a widow could be in biblical times.
 
I’ve researched a bit of family history ,and found out my grandfathers ( Father) was married twice ….
my G.G .F ~ first wife died , so he married her sister to shortly after ….to take are of the kids

( Think it was fairly common )

So the information on the history site shows no one is certain ~ which sister was my GF mother.

In this day and age, where men and women are equal and marriage is an option, it's called polyamory.
 
I've seen a little example of how it might be just this week. My book club has 14 women and one man, Edward. In spite of the fact that he's in his mid seventies and his health is terrible after a bout with cancer, the women seem to think he's there at their disposal.

He had to give up driving a few years ago so I pick him up and drive him in my little 1998 Neon. (I don't know how he ended up with the worst driver with the worst car.)

One of us ladies is now in a nursing home and thought I should pick her up to take her to lunch with us. I said I wasn't strong enough to help her out of her wheel chair and then back up out of the very low seat. She said Edward could do it. I said then where would Edward sit? The back seat is only for kids. She thought he could walk to the restaurant.

As my husband always says, "There's no let up," men are expected to hold the doors, carry the packages and kill the bugs, right up until the end.

But, if men die before women, then it wouldn't be long before the ladies were looking for replacements for the replacement they replaced their first husband with? 🤷‍♀️
