How did you come up with your username?

Mine also a cb name from the 70’s
Breaker breaker to the Undertaker ... this is Gravedigger, got a 10-4 on the Phantom good buddy? Negatory Gravedigger, the Phantom has gone sidewinder to allude the Smokies. All I copy is a coughing sound. Roger dodger good buddy, if he isn't home and sober soon, he will be hearing a coffin sound if you copy my drift. 10-4 Gravedigger, lots of nice boxes available, come on down. 🤣

A big Bee landed on the back of my neck in a field behind our house when I was a little boy. I gingerly walked around to the front of the house where my Dad was cleaning his golf clubs. I pointed to the back of my neck, and Dad quickly and firmly swatted the Bee away.

His nickname for me for the last 50 years was Beezer!"

What a cool headed little guy you were, Beezer!

We should all use our childhood nicknames. I got my family nickname because my older brother watched "cops and robbers" shows all the time and then acted them out with me as one of the characters. My dad heard him calling me "Punk." He thought it was a funny name for a fluffy little girly-girl and I remained Punk or Punkie forever.

I don't know about that. My grandpa had a nickname for me due to a tick I had that was morbidly embarrassing. LOL

I used to be JimBob52. Then I ran afoul of the moderator here and was kicked off.

Months passed. I missed some of the folks here, so I signed up with another email account but couldn't think of a user name. I'm only 3/4 Irish and not particularly ethnic -- I go to an Episcopal church and have only been to Ireland twice in the last 50 years. Irishdude was the first thing that popped into my head.

If the moderator wants to kick me off again, that is his/her prerogative. I don't post about politics anymore, though.

I was reading a lot of eastern philosophy at the time. I don’t want to go through these later years thinking I already know it all. A reminder for the new things I hope to learn - leaving room in my mental cup.

I was going to pick a name with Mick in it. My lifelong nickname. It’s one of those names that some consider derogatory towards Irish people (I do have Irish ancestry), so skipped that idea.

Veronica is my hero. I want to be like her when I grow up. :D
I love the name Veronica. All three of my children were named after saints. My older daughter's name is Monica, and I really wanted to name my second daughter Veronica (bit of a long story), but I got a lot of pushback, mostly from friends and acquaintances, not from family members: "You can't have a Monica and a Veronica!" I should have held firm, and yeah, that would have sounded kind of matchy-matchy, but we likely would have nicknamed her Ronnie or something. We ended up going with Madeleine, after St. Madeleine Sophie Barat.

But I do love the name Veronica. I hadn't heard of the TikTok Veronica, though!

I usually pick the name of a ship as my user name; I went with something different here.
